I wouldn't say tank, but I've already moved on to the next season, which includes the draft. I will be looking to see who is available who can help this franchise. I know we'll need a bell cow back (sorry, but McFadden and CMike aren't it) and another corner (Hargraves?) or a space-eating DT. I predicted 14-2 but injuries killed that. However, with a healthy Romo, a bell cow back (Henry or Elliott) or another shutdown corner, this team could be special ... NEXT YEAR.

I question if Romo can play one more year. I think a lot of people are overly optimistic about where he's at physically. Some QBs fade out gradually and some just fall off a cliff.

Answer: No he cannot. Draft a QB first round.

I know it, brother. There will be no shortage of volunteers.

But we've got all week because, and here's a sneak-peak....I don't really blame the coaches for being conservative in this one. :)

Good for you. With all respect your assessment of Garrett holds no water with me it's nonsensical. But I like you anyway :)

Seriously. I can see clearly now. Our offense is pathetic even with Romo there, UNTIL, the play book goes out the window. When we're in hurry up, and Romo is just doing what he does, we score easily. This coaching staff is a disgrace to Cowboys history. Landry would puke if he were alive today. Jerry ruined this franchise.

Yup. We are experiencing revisionist history. Our offense has struggled far too often with Romo as well. Our scheme just isn't that good considering the talent we've had.

Then Murray breaks out and we find the keys, and we choose to sign Crawford over him. Just unreal

Injuries have hurt this club, no question. But the season for any other coach and team with similar perceived talent was still very salvagable.

Today, I found out that it is not.

Not when you have the coaches and playcalling and QB play the Cowboys are vomiting up on the field on Sundays. This is a LOST season, an absolute mess of personnel decisions and poor play that your beleaguered QB can no longer patch with his own vastly underrated ability and competitiveness.

I hope Garrett reads these boards because I blame HIM for this garbage. And that's what it is. We are throwing out pre-season offensive game plans against real NFL teams. You see the result.

What an absolute disaster.

"Really proud of the way you guys battled out there today. Really played hard and really battled. Really just left it all out on the field of battle out there. Just really proud of your battling abilities today. Plus you guys really battled. So keep your head up, and keep battling."

I fear that we are putting too much hope into Romo's return. The way the Cowboys are playing, we can't blame him if things don't improve when he gets back. I believe we will look much better once he's back, but I hope people don't forget just how awful the Cowboys looked without him and thus don't blame Romo if the crappy play continues.

I agree!

we need to stop playing around and draft a qb worth a darn. Romo isn't spring chicken. He has been hurt he last couple of years. We need to let a rook learn the game under him but idk if garrett would ruin him.

I've been saying this. Drafting anything outside of a QB in the 1st round in next year's draft will be very disappointing to me. As much as I love Tony we've got to start moving towards the next QB for this franchise and that has to happen before next season.

What? Haven't you been reading the CBZ threads? Romo will play 4 more years ... unhurt.

Plus, why waste high draft picks on QB's when the failure rate is so high?

The sad part is, the team as a whole did not play bad today. Our QB situation is just simply that terrible. I'm sure there were guys open to have caught the ball while Cassel was dancing around scared to throw. If you can't throw for 100 yards as a quarterback you know there are problems. Romo would have easily had 300 and 3 tds and everyone would be singing a different tune about this team in general.

Our defense, oline and run game has been good. I don't think this team is trash like others do.
