Ware, Spencer, Ratliff, Hatcher, Crawford, Lissemore, Wilbur, Bass and Hayden. Followed by Igbinosun, Taylor, Sheffield, Long and Pendleton.

That's 14 guys with 8 to 10 likely making the team. I think the DL meeting room is still pretty full.

If you aren't healthy going into training camp, there is no point o being on the roster

It's a shame though. I actually like this guys long term potential. I get the feeling we'll see this guy on some team's roster in the next year or two down the road. Wouldn't be shocked if it's ours.

I like our D-Line I believe there's a lot of talent there as well as some younger guys who will step up also some serviceable guys who can play a couple downs here and there, I just hope they learn to keep Ware fresh for the 4 th quarter and the end of the season.

I'm more concerned about who's going to be able to provide fresh pass-rushing legs at DE than I am the reserves at DT.

As of right now I don't see that pass-rush specialist on the roster... BUT maybe one of the young guys will shine. But personally I'm thinking that come next May (when the draft is held in 2014) there will be a couple picks used for DE.

I don't think we need a "specialist" because I think we will get pressure by committee. Spencer will be a 12 sack guy and lead the team, I see Ware pitching in 10 sacks, so I'm not worried about the starters, I could see Ratliff (staying healthy) adding 5 or 6 sacks and maybe 2 or 3 from Hatcher...... Now Wilbur and Crawford as the backups as long as they are serviceable for 15-20 snaps a game I'd be happy if we got 3 or 4 sacks out of each of them (or 7 combined).... That makes for a ton of pressure from the front 4... We need to attack DE in the draft regardless because Ware is getting old and I don't expect Spencer to be here long term because he is 29 as well signing him long term would be a mistake...

You may be right, but I think Crawford is fair to good at rushing the passer... at least that was supposed to be a strong point of his in college. We're really not going to get much more than that without spending a 1st rounder. My expectations/hopes for Wilbur are roughly equal to a Victor BUtler performance.

Not sure about this one either. On even days I think we'll just go with who we brought to the dance. On odd days I think we need a specialist; like say John Abraham. If he could stay healthy I'd think hard about losing a roster spot to have him. He can cover, rush and defend the run. I just don't know what's in the tank for him, how healthy he'll be and losing that roster spot.

Where would you put him? Don't you want Carter, Lee, Ware, Spencer all in the game on 3rd downs?

Maybe not all but many. However, Spencer and Ware need to come out occasionally on rotation. If someone doesn't emerge to help rush the passer then I could see us going after Abraham. I doubt it will happen but it's a reasonable thought.

Yeah, we need a situational fresh pass rusher to bring in occasionally, Spencer or Ware can rest or move Spencer inside in passing situations. It is one role I would love for us to fill before the season starts, maybe with an Abraham.

I like the idea but not at the expense of losing an up and coming player. I just don't know yet if there is a player like that on the roster at DE or OLB yada.

Problem is none of our up and coming players really fit this role, unless Wilber is the real deal. I like Crawford, but I don't see him as the backup edge rusher that I would like to see in a Cowboy uniform this coming year. Since we are running a similar D to Seattle, we really need an up and coming guy like they have in Irvin to fill this role, but as of right now this guy isn't on our team so a vet to fill the role would be a great addition.
