CAN WE MAKE IT LIKE THE HURTS DEAL and keep out of the news, move silently then BOOM cowboys sign two of their players. This is how normal teams do things!!
Normal teams aren't run by narcissists living in fantasy land, though. lol

Like we could’ve gave up nothing for Ramsey and made him the highest paid corner…

But instead you’d rather pay Diggs?

That’s just dumb…
Not as dumb as giving up draft capital for a soon to be 30 year old corner who also wants to be one of the highest paid corners in the league- or better yet giving up the draft picks and realizing we don’t want to pay him so he walks.

If was my decision I’d let him test the market and/or attempt to get a feel for his trade value. Good player but not a set the market type player.

of course they do. but neither should be at all costs. neither contract should be so large it hurts the teams ability to add additional talent since neither is a game changing elite player by himself.

Might as well if they like the guys. They need to stop placing guys on franchise tags that eat up the cap. No reason why Pollard should be under a FT. He is no more than a 5M a year back at best.

Diggs chose not to tackle last year. Will he do the same again after he is paid the bag? If the answer is yes, then its a sketchy signing.

Diggs has a couple of bad habits that have to be corrected before sitting down with him to get a contract done. 2023 season is going to be the make or break season for him.
Yep, I would not hitch my wagon to him just yet. He has to prove he is willing to be a consistent tackler in the secondary. He does not have to be excellent, just sufficient. He was not sufficient as a tackler last year!

Like Diggs but him ducking out of the way on Kittle's circus catch really irked me. I'm fine with the Deion types who don't seek contact, but that was some of the softest "stuff" I've seen on a football field in a long time even for a corner. All he had to do was "not avoid" contacting him and Kittle doesn't make that catch.

Hopefully we get something for him in a trade if we let him walk. Play poker instead of uno JJ.

Citing the Hill contract is silly when the last year of that contract is fake and the only reason that it seems to be 30m. The actual highest paid WR in the NFL is at 25m per year. Realistically Lamb probably comes in somewhere around that number. Diggs probably resets the corner market as well.

Maybe we can give Lamb a fake year too.

I suspect Lamb would want the same thing (but a little more) then every WR contract since Hill/Adams did their fake years thing which is 3-5 years at 78-30 million depending on the year count.

I question whether they sign all three, but I'd bet they do.

You do know that Howie was talking about extending Hurts way prior to the when the actual contract extension happened? In fact, he was talked about it from the podium at the combine in February. He said they were negotiating and trying to find a win win contract between him and the Eagles. He said that Jalen deserved a tremendous contract. Then he said this at the league meeting sin March:

What he said: “It’s no secret that sometimes relatively soon, we want to extend our quarterback. So our whole kind of roster building is going to turn a little bit here from a quarterback on a rookie deal to where it’s a quarterback hopefully on a long-term deal. Not that we have anything done, but that’s obviously our goal, to keep Jalen here for a really long time. …

“I think it’s fair to say Jalen is in the last year of his deal and we want him here long term, and that’s going to be a priority. And so when we’re looking at this free-agency period, we know the dynamics of our cap are gonna have to change at some point, so we can’t just do that at some point, we have to look into team building not only this year but into 2024 and 2025. …

Yeah, when a player is unwilling to physically commit in the playoffs I'm not running to the negotiating table.

I like Diggs, but he did us dirty against the niners. I gave him a pass vs Tampa, but come on man. Making business decisions in the playoffs doesn't cut it.

If he balls out this year pay him or franchise and flip. If they were to sign him early it needs to be the ever elusive "team friendly" deal.

i dunno, he decided not to tackle on key 3rd down plays that extended the bucs drives on a few occasions. Had our team not been firing on all cylinders that wouldve been an issue, but still, to do that in any playoff game especially considering all of those instances the game was close/early that irks me.
