Cowboys want to sign CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs to long term extensions

Except it’s not. He’s getting paid. By Dallas. Whether you like it or not. And he absolutely deserves it.

Right?
For a couple reasons.
First, since he was a 2nd rounder, we do NOT have a 5th year option on him, like we do with CeeDee and Micah.
2nd, Diggs has been great since he started playing, better than CeeDee in fact, since the start.
CeeDee has an amazing 2nd half last season, but was flawed before that. Bad routes, drops, disappeared in games.
Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is amazing and should be a Cowboy for many years, but Diggs has been pro bowl caliber for 2 of his 3 years here, and as a 2nd round pick, did NOT get big money on his first deal.
Dude deserves to get paid.
If we don't pay him, someone else surely will.
Does Diggs gamble and sometimes lose? Yes.
Is he sometimes an unwilling tackler? Yes
Is he still someone OC's and QB's fear? Yes
Does he get turnovers that change games? Yes
Sign them both, the sooner you do it the better.
Sign CeeDee before Jefferson gets a new deal and CeeDee's agent uses that as his floor.
The cap is exploding, get used to it.

Diggs isn't getting away. Unless you have someone else ready to cover Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, AJ Brown, and Deebo Samuel.

Exactly............Diggs is a top 5 corner when it comes to coverage, nobody is disputing this.............the objections are that he doesnt want to tackle.

Corners are paid to cover, not tackle............that is why Diggs is going to get paid by the Cowboys.

right, grass is greener syndrome. They rather go all in on others FAs but dont count ours as big signings. when you draft as well as we do, its tough to have to then pay these players, But in most situations the FO does the right thing.

Signing Diggs will be yet another horrific contract handed out by this front office.

They would never pay him that kind of money if he was an outside free agent but since they drafted him he is like so good and totally worth it.

A complete waste of money on a player who doesn't matter.
