Those guys have a little more value, not much, but a little.

Instead of Doritos, I think I can fleece a team for a bag of these:laugh:

Morris was better than dunbar, I think JG just likes dunbar more, and something else besides on field play is the issue here.
Could be he said the wrong thing at some point.

He started out the season ok. His last carries were pathetic. He was tripping over himself and just looking for places to fall. It was weird because in preseason he was breaking tackles looking physical .

All the gms must be having a good laugh at this report. If I'm not mistaken, nobody wanted him last yr when he was a free agent. Now they are going to give something up. lol.

Well they didnt use him properly, you cant come in for one series and do much.
I would have played him in 1st and 3rd, then in 2nd and 4th when defense is a little tired put fresh elliot in and he would probably
break some runs.
The way they did it, elliot was as tired as the defense.
Parcells used jones that way, then put a fresh barber in for redzones, and 4th qtr.
That made barber look better than he was, but it worked, and just imagine using elliot like that, defense tired, and in
comes elliot not tired and actually raring to go!
Agreed.

Again...should have never dumped Jackson last year...cheaper...younger...and this wouldn't be relevant.

no they should have never drafted jackson with all the rb's that they had and no way they were going to dump any of them last year.
So jackson was a wasted draft pick.

Have to disagree there DD52. This regime has been about getting younger and they should have cut DMAC or Dumpbar soon as they drafted him.

Well I am with you on that, but I just meant they were going to keep the other 2.
I might have kept jackson over dunbar for sure, and maybe McF too, but JG thought otherwise.
So the jackson pick was a wasted pick.

Morris was a disappointment I don't see him being back next season. Either he needs a lot of carries to be effective or what we saw the last few years in Washington was decline. Thought he would be much better than he was, he can't seem to get anything going off of just a few carries. He's not effective as a complementary back.

I'm kind of surprised he just "petered" out like he did. I agree with you. I was thinking maybe he isn't getting enough carries. At the beginning of the season, he seem to have done well with the limited carries he received. Then, it's like he just fell out of the rotation for some reason.
Strange.

And Dunbar is making me feel like he took a naked selfie picture with Jerry Jones or/and Jason Garrett. Why are the Cowboys still holding on to him?

Darren McFadden just wants to be a Cowboy. He'll probably play for $10,000 a season. He seems THAT desperate to remain wearing the :star:.

I personally think we're going to take a back in rounds 3 or 4. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Mixon. Just saying.

Dunbar had 9 carries. That is not a change of pace back. He is hardly even a running back. 3rd down, passing situations only.

Morris played 2-3 series a game for a good part of the season and was the only other half besides Zeke that took off for the bulk of the year. He played at a "different pace" than Zeke and it worked early in the season.

I barely even remember Dunbar in the lineup. I looked up his stats and in addition to 9 carries he caught 16 passes.

I was shocked because I didn't think he touched the ball on pass plays that much. That's the quietest 16 catches I've ever seen.

I only remember one pass he caught. The slant for touchdown that was called back.

He's the new Stanback, Matt Johnson, Proctor. Guys who just seem to be here forever and not very productive.

I know we don't really have a desperate NEED for a running back but if they drafted Mixon in the 4th (3rd is too high for me with our needs) I think I would pee myself. Elliot and Mixon? Are you freaking kidding me?

Morris averaged 5.0 a carry on opening day on 7 carries but 13 yards were on one run. He then went nowhere the following week against Washington averaging 1.4 on 5 carries. Against Cinn he averaged 5.5 on 6 carries, gaining 33 yards but 17 of that was on one play so he was going backwards on some of those carries. Against Cleveland he got 17 carries but only gained 56 yards averaging 3.3 a carry. In the season finale he got 8 carries for only 12 yards and some of that was with our starting OL. Anything we had going with Zeke would sputter out once Morris came in. If the Cowboys are looking to trade him that's a sign he's not going to be back if they can't.

His rookie year in Washington they never took him off the field and he and RG3 seemed to feed off each other. I thought behind our OL and run blocking scheme he would excel but he's more proof that the despite our OL, the back matters. They're saying this is one of the strongest RB drafts in years so I would expect us to take one at some point. McFadden is aging and it doesn't appear the team is all that high on Jackson who didn't get a single carry this past season.

I just don't see any team giving something up for Morris. He will be cut pending any RB health issues in the next few months
