I said it a few times during the course of the season, I wasn't sure if they were any better than the 2021 and 2022 squads.

In fact, I'm pretty sure they were slightly worse.

With that said, I got my hopes up a little because the path to the CG was there. But the ceiling was always SF, barring injuries to Purdy or CMC.

It just sucks to get embarrassed again

I didn't think they'd goto the NFCCG but i'm still shocked at the loss but especially how they lost.

Right

I was excited earlier in season when our defense was looking dominant until we were blown out by SF and the struggles against better teams .

That should have been enough for everyone to be cautious not buying in.

We saw enough in December losses to be even more cautious. But when Egirls folded gifting us division and Detroit idiotically gave us that game the 2 Seed fell in our lap.

And too many fans saw an easier path to Champ game which it was but it should not have dismissed how poorly we were playing.

Yes, how we lost was more disturbing . Being totally blown out. Although we had similar losses this year. So shouldn’t have been totally surprising while disappointing.

This team made a name for themselves with their ability to beat up on the lower level crap teams. What made it worse was the media chiming in and putting them on a pedestal, and this bunch of losers ate the cheese and ran with it. I think this team went into the playoff game thinking they were unstoppable and didn't put any effort into practice or preparation. They even had victory parties before the playoff game was even played. Who does stupid stuff like that?

Expect more of the same next season, peeps.
Yep, and expect Jerry to be leading the hype train next summer as well.
P.T. Barnum would be proud of Jerry.

Spot on. I lost all hope that we could win a super bowl after SF-- I don't think that hope ever returned.

But to be embarrassed at home by GB, again? Yeesh.

I dont think many here thought they could molly whop the niners...expecting this team to beat the Packers at the star is not overhyped..no question they underdelivered by a mile..so no not overhyped, AGAIN they under delivered....

The overhype was in regards to expectations for the season not necessarily this particular game.

I was guilty of thinking this year was different: a top 5 offense and defense, Dak the subject of MVP discussions most of the year, a blemish-free home stand and the number 2 seed.

Two weeks ago, I thought the Cowboys were a shoo-in for the NFC championship game and, hopefully, redemption for recent loses to SF.

Did you truly watch the games? How on earth could you think this?

You’re kinda right. We were as good as any team in the NFC other than San Fran and Green Bay. Is Green Bay the second best team in the NFC today? Idk. But we beat every other contender besides San Fran.

Two things. One, we probably underestimated GB as a fan base. Two, we are a Jekyll and Hyde team and needed to start the game with momentum.
