Man, Berny isnt much better. No awareness of where the rush is coming from.

At least Berny got better as the year went along. Free did a little better once he started rotating with Parnell, but that was just because he wasn't out there as much.

Alot of getting into his body before he uses his hands and putting him on skates.

His technique in those sequences is flat-out awful.

No matter what you think of Fluker there is no way he gets bull rushed like that, even if the guy gets under him.

I'm convinced that Free was having a real difficult time switching from Hudson Houck's blocking schemes to Bill Challahan's early in the season. His play was just too bad early and he improved too much late for that not to be a big part of it, IMO. He just looked lost in all the early games but looked like another player the last few games. He was ok in 2011 and ok late 2012... but for a few games at the start of last year he was simply horrid.

I know he was overpaid, but if he takes a significant pay-cut, I'd certainly let him try to compete in Callahan's system year two. If he takes the cut, at least watch him through training camp to see if maybe the switch to Callahan and the switch from left to right messed him up for a while.

If he's willing to take the big cut to free up significant salary cap money, then it is worth it to bring him back, let him compete, and not take a big hit with dead money.

If he sucks in camp again... cut his ***.

when a player gets his lunch eaten like that it has NOTHING to do with scheme and its all about how badly that player sucks

There's only one thing that sucks around this forum and it isn't Free.

Still waiting for you in the draft zone to display your amazing OL knowledge. It's put up or shut up time.

Too quick to judge lol? No offense but I judged every week for 16 games. I am still judging. He is so bad I refuse to put him when I play Madden.

One bad season. Might as well see what he can do in camp.

If he is restructured that would be better than retaining him on the current contract, it also creates other options.

The Front Office continues to try, they aren't usually successful but Free wasn't that bad as a LT in 2011 much less at RT in 2010. Maybe he's working, people can improve, try it sometime.

Not sure I would call his 2011 season "good".

At the price it's costing, no use in seeing what he can do it camp. Doubtful he could ever justify his cap hit no matter what he does.

Not a restructure, it would be a pay cut, probably around 5m less. It could be beneficial to both parties. Cutting him only saves a couple million more and adds to the dead money next year. He will not have many, if any offers above the league minimum as a FA if he is cut in June.

If they draft or sign other Ts that are better they can always cut him after camp starts.
