The Cowboys are working out four players today, including former New York Giants quarterback Ryan Nassib. Safeties Jerome Johnson and Duke Williams and wide receiver Lance Lenoir are also working out for the team. The Cowboys concluded their OTAs Wednesday and end their offseason next week with a minicamp.

Nassib is a name I remember being thrown around here the year he got drafted. Anyone know the 4-1-1 why he didn't stick with NYG?

Because he is horrible. Absolutely horrible.

He won't make this squad. He showed absolutely nada in New York and they gave him chances to show he had something. Giant fans loathed him. @Shunpike, I'm sure, would agree. :)

I'm surprised he's even getting looked at.

Yep, our kind of players who come dirt cheat looking for a job. All future applicants for FA positions must be willing
to work for chips or peanuts. Anyone wanting more than that show mosey down I20.

Same, Stash. No bueno.

If he makes our squad, hell even our practice squad, we'll know we have jack **** for backups and they'll be in play next offseason/draft.

Yeah, the Giants invested a lot of time in Nassib to be Eli's backup and the guy looked to have gotten worse, not better.

I'm not really sure what the team's thinking is at backup QB, but I'd have to say that I'm not a fan of what they've done and haven't done thus far. One of the very few areas on the team that I'm not thrilled about.

I can't really believe that we believe in Moore, either (despite Linehan's love for him). I just think the FO wasnt able to snag a guy for what they wanted to pay and are banking on a healthy Dak.

It should be a top priority next offseason, in FA and/or the mid rounds of the draft. One of those comp picks, at the least, should be used on a QB.

Josh McCown would have been nice.

Did he even play?

I know Dak supposedly looked pretty bad in practice.

Not saying I want him, I know there are better options(we are still dumb for not signing Fitzpatrick) but it's kind of hard to judge a player playing behind a guy that never got hurt.

Guessing he looked bad in preseason as well.

From what I read and heard of the draft, they liked Brad Kaaba from Miami, but "got cute" and missed out on him to Detroit. And I'm also not a big fan of this "Romo unretirement option" that many have speculated about, because I don't think anybody walks out of the booth and onto the field and is effective, certainly not quickly.

And I just don't think that Kellen Moore has the physical ability to play at the NFL level, and the guy I see much too turnover prone.

Despite their issues last year, it doesn't seem like the organization has learned much about stocking the quarterback position and have gotten arrogant because they were fortunate enough to hit a homer until with Dak.

I agree. I am still shocked we had no interest in adding another Ivy Leaguer with tons of NFL experience(Fitzpatrick).

The team is obviously very high on Moore. Heck...I think they thought he was the QB of the future before Dak came around.

He played a ton in preseason and has horrible. Like Stash also said, they gave the kid every opportunity to at least be the backup. He was originally drafted to take the reigns. Too bad he didn't :D

Dak, at least, looked great in preseason games (not to compare the two, just saying).

Fitz, McCown, we missed on some decent backups, for sure, Rob.

Can't stand the Romo backup notion, either. It's silly, to be frank.

Linehan is high on Moore anyway. But I think he's a better "assistant QB coach" than actual NFL player. Hire him for that role and get a guy physically capable of making NFL throws.

Heck, I'd have signed Blaine Gabbert before Arizona got him.
