With the 2nd best record in the NFL at 10-3 the Cowboys would be in first place in every other division but their own.

Impressive and were doing it 2 years in a row making the playoffs. Winning is all that matters right?

Winning is great, but if they bow out of the playoffs early again most won't see this as a successful season. The fan base is starving for postseason success.

I mean this isn't soccer. There is no consolation game for third place or whatever. After 27 years, this franchise will be judged on championship or bust, especially if they shell out ducats for OBJ.

No doubt, but its still nice to see this team make the playoffs two years in a row. When was the last time that happened? And the team is definitely right there and trending up.

If we pay the Bucs that should be a win. But Im not confident we can beat SF or the Eagles. Those are better teams at the moment.

Sure, but there is reality and perspective. The Cowboys dont have a championship caliber squad. They just dont. They would have to beat Bucs, Eagles, Niners, Bengals/KC to win it all. They just arent good enough to do that.

Dallas would be in 1st place in the NFC East with a win Christmas Eve if they don't blow a 14pt 4th quarter lead against a terrible Packers team.

They are where they are because they earned it and deserve to be in 2nd place. Rodgers had thrown the ball 10 times after 3 quarters. Let that sink in. Smh...that loss haunts me and should bother them. They would have had their destiny in their own hands.

But, I digress...you're right though, they would be in 1st place in any other division.

Reaching the conference championship game would be the best finish in 27 years. Anything less would be more of the same, but I don't see a SB champion at the moment.

Terrible loss no doubt. But I dont think having the 2nd best record in the NFL is anything to be disappointed about.

1 playoff win would be amazing. Beating the Eagles in Philly in the 2nd round would be incredible. But agreed we dont have a championship squad.

Yea, it’s funny how it can come full circle. In past years winning our division didn’t come with much respect . Now it’s possible every team in division could get in the playoffs for first time in NFL history.

But it looks like we will have to do it on the road as Wild Card. And we could have better records that opponents in our first two playoffs games.

There’s even a chance if another Wild Card wins in opening round we could get divisional round at home against lower seeded WC.

All 3 WC teams would need to win opening round . Which appears reasonable gesture as the NFC previous front runners are all down this year.

Tampa, even SF ( without Jimmy G) and Minn are beatable in opening round .

This really could open the door for us to finally at least make the championship game .

Why not? They have a top ten running game and OL, a top 5 pass rush, a top 20 kicker, punter, and ST, and have several young players that could be studs. Parsons, Lawrence, Clark, Diggs, and Donovan Wilson would start on any team. They lost by 9 in Philly with a backup QB who threw three picks, they already beat Cincy, and does any reasonable person truly believe they’d have no chance with a Bucs rematch?

Nothing to sneeze at Roy. But to have to go on the road throughout the playoffs is not the easiest task. That is the downfall of finishing in Wild Card range.

2006-2007 is only time it’s happened since 1998-1999.

Since our championship run when we made playoffs in 6 consecutive seasons from 1991-1996 this will only be the third time we have made playoffs in consecutive seasons .

And you’d think we should we win at Tampa but anytime you face Brady in playoffs I wouldn’t call it a given.

Yea, SF really concerns me more with their defense than Phil does . But yea, both could be better teams than us.

I still like our chances better this year than last year or even some of our previous seasons. Last time I felt this good was 2014.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The record doesn't mean squat if they have to go up against the Eagles or 9ers. Look for the Boys to be ONE and DONE in this year's playoffs if Prescot can't shake the slowwwwwwwwwwww starts.

Good year so far

fwiw, in the make-believe scenario that we would have played the exact same schedule that we have, we would be in 2nd in 1 division and tied for 1st in 3 divisions.....so in outright 1st place in 4 of the 8 divisions

While I like this team better with our defense it’s still could be iffy on the road in playoffs. Sure , we can beat Tampa. But anytime you play the Goat it’s a risk.

And then we probably go to Minn which we’ve already won going away. Unless the other Wildcard teams upset in first round which could bring a NY, Wash, Sea or Detroit to Dallas. Which in that case I really like our odds of making first championship game in 3 decades.

Sadly SF is even better without Jimmy G. Deebo Samuel is a big loss for them.

SF is the best team in the NFC at the moment.

Let’s assume we do go to Tampa. And Brady pulls out a miraculous performance scoring in final seconds to win. I’m not sure there is shame in that even if it means one and done.
