Art Smith was even worse. Passing game terroristMatt Canada was a terrible OC and Tomlin kept him around.
But I said Pickens is spoiled and enjoys camp cupcake. I don’t get how that goes against that.it goes hand in hand with what pickens said and supports the premise of the thread
Cowboys WR George Pickens when asked why he’s been so comfortable in Dallas: “I’d probably just say the type of coaches and the people around. When it’s a different vibe and environment then that’s mostly what you’re seeing out of me now. Definitely more light-hearted people.
“They kind of just ask questions first, see your answer, instead of just going with their own narrative. Definitely being around the guys, too. That’s definitely my No. 1 thing always just because when you can wake up in the morning and see them and we’re going through the same thing. Just being around the whole facility.”
On his maturity: “Definitely. The older you get, you definitely get mature.”
Alternatively what have the Steelers done in recent years.Basically he likes Jerry atmosphere and not a stern atmosphere that holds players accountable for when they screw up.
He's not completely blameless. But so far so good. I hope he's truly turned the corner on his career.Shots fired at an aging coach thinking about retirement
Shots fired at offensive play callers who hate the modern passing game and run a power running from the 1990’s.
Shots fired at backup or has been level QBs.
Shots fired at an organization stealing years from his career.
I think he realized if he didn't change he wasn't going to have a career in the NFL.Translate........he was frustrated, which led to some of the negative behavior he's trying to shake now. Sometimes, a player simply needs a change of scenery to get the best out his talent. I think that's what we are seeing now with Pickens.........
Times have changed. You can't simply have your way with players anymore.Okay, I'll stir the pot here a little. Do you think that perhaps Pickens is more comfortable with a camp cupcake kind of style like we've been rumored to have and a "buddy" coach like Schotty (also rumored) might fit his style better, but if anyone tried to clamp down on any out of step behavior, Pickens would act out again and be a problem/distraction?
Anytime I've ever considered anything about Michael he wasn't naked.I wonder if George would have considered a naked Michael Irvin screaming about how we're about winning championships here as light hearted.

Exactly. Like it or not a big part of managing people is learning how to push their buttons. You need to understand the individual and how to get the best out of them.Every player is different ...........some players respond to hard coaching very well and some don't. Kinda like your kids........parenting method for one may liitle or no impact on another one. So you to try a different approach.
As for Pickens, keep in mind he spent his first 3 years playing with different QBs, none of whom were very good. I'm sure that too had something to do with his frustration coz his talent/career was being compromised by Tomlin's inability to find a top QB.
For me whether we keep him or not depends on the season. We suck, trade him for a #1 or 2.Good points about the QBs. The different coaching styles is the first place I want to go but there are also a lot of variables at play, especially since he isn't signed to a multiyear deal, which means he has to be at least a little measured in his approaches. I do hope we're able to keep him.
As he should know. It's not rocket science. He knows he is boxed in. If he does his job and keeps his mouth shut he will be rich.
And the Steelers have put up with some real undisciplined aholes.Alternatively what have the Steelers done in recent years.
Aaron insists that you kiss his butt. They both like dysfunction. Which is crazy because Aaron doesn’t have guys like Pickens at receiver. He’s had some great ones but they were all solid get to work early type guys.
Speaking of facts, I was kinda waiting for you to retort with some since I used them to support my point. But you just responded with the same statement. Which of those responses were more like foot-stamping and clogging your ears up while yelling, "la la la la, can't hear you"? Lol.Lol all you want, it doesn’t change the facts.
Did you stomp your feet too?
You can make up whatever nonsense you want, it doesn’t change the facts.
They made the playoffs by a last second missed FG from the Ravens K. Then lost to the Texans in the playoffs.Steelers made the playoffs last year . Dallas did not . I wouldn’t throw Tomlin and that organization under the bus too much
For the record, me either! lolAnytime I've ever considered anything about Michael he wasn't naked.![]()
The one that confuses opinions for facts.Speaking of facts, I was kinda waiting for you to retort with some since I used them to support my point. But you just responded with the same statement. Nothing. But that doesn’t mean campAlternatively what have the Steelers done in recent years.
