Good for him.

One of the very few players on this team that's talent deserves a big contract.

Get your money, Martin. Don't back down.
He signed a big contract, got most of his money up front, and now wants to renege on the deal that gave him low salaries in the final two years that allowed the big bonus up front. That is bad faith negotiating.

Example:

Martin: I want $84million over 6 years to become the highest paid guard in the NFL. And I want $22 million up front, in the first year, and another $10 million in the second year

Cowboys: Okay, but that means in your 5th year, you’ll only have a salary of $1.7M, so we can give you all that money up front.

Martin: No problem. Just give me my money now.

Tick-tock tick-tock tick-tock tick tock

Year 5 Martin: it’s not fair that I’m only making $1.7M this year…I’m going to hold out.

Bottom line: Martin has been paid $68.3 over the first 4 years of his 6 year contract - an average of $17.075 million per season. Now he wants to renege on the last two years of his contract when his salaries are $1.7M and $14M

They are working out details I am sure. Martin will be A Cowboy for life. Just don’t leave it up to SJ. Let JJ handle this one..

"get that money boy, you can't play forever, you earned it." "don't worry about a man's money, screw the pie"
Those are the approved cliches that almost every sports “journalist” used to plead that Lamar Jackson break the bank with his contract…..and now those same children don’t understand why there’s little money left over to pay others on the team

"get that money, you only live once" "I'd rather Zack be right and live a great life after football. Get that money boy. Don't worry about a man's money"

don't make me throw out some stats on why he should get that money..
