Trade Romo?

Give me Bosa !!

Since the Cowboys do have talent, they need to take advantage of this opportunity(drafting at the top of every round)) and come out of this draft the way the Spurs came out of the 1997 NBA Draft.

I may be crazy, but I think #17 can be a good back up. We can find a developmental qb later in the draft.

I would rather have Elliott at 4 than a QB. But I would rather have the best available defensive player at 4 instead of Elliott. Now if we can find a trade partner to trade back several picks and grab Elliott there, even better.

I'll take that bet.

So would I.

Hey guys! Let's pass up on the position we can't get anywhere else! You know, the one where the mediocre guys like Sam Bradford are making $18 million a year! Yeah!

And then we'll follow that up by drafting the position that almost nobody uses a first round pick on anymore! Yeah! The one where the best free agents available only cost $5-$6 million a year! Yeah!

And then we can pay that rookie $4.135 million a year too! Almost what it would cost for that proven free agent with no draft pick needed! Yeah!

Ugh.

Elliot is our pick at 4...just watch.

I know he's not projected to go that high - but I'm right with you on Elliott. I don't think any single player infuses a dynamic element more than Elliott does to our offense. Not one defensive player in the draft does to ur defense what Elliott could do to our offense.

If we went Elliott - then went entirely defense in the draft and FA I would consider it a good offseason.

They have a chance to build this team to possibly compete in 17-18 with 2 good drafts.

A QB?

Do you refer to Jesus as a carpenter?

I want him. I believe in him. I want trumpets blaring as the pick is announced. Our franchise has been saved.

Lol I don't want to be around you on draft day when dallas doesn't go qb @ 4! Especially if wentz is there and they pass.

The flaws in that thinking are two-fold.

One, by early estimates, next year's QB class is considered worse, not better.

And two, unless the Cowboys tank again, their draft pick will be significantly lower than where they are this year, making it much harder, if not impossible, to get one of the top prospects.

Who knows what's going to turn up as far as QB class goes... It could stink, it could be better.

Things change so quickly between September and January.

Here's what Ourlads said about their top-rated QB as of the start of the 2015 college season:

-This is a senior... they do not talk about juniors until they declare.

"Can throw through a small window with velocity, but the sample size is small... plays well under pressure and doesn't get rattled. He has good vision, always keeping his eyes down the field. He is athletic with the ball when he pulls it down to run. Despite his natural running ability, he is a passer who moves well in the pocket under game and rush pressure. A prospect with good arm talent, athletic ability, natural tools for the position..."

Who is it?

I'd like your opinion in this.

Would you prefer using your #4 overall pick on Elliot, and paying him $4.135 million a year, or signing Lamar Miller for $5 million and using that #4 pick on another need?

My clear answer is choice number two.

Elliott is significantly better than Miller

Like WAY better...

But...I probably still agree w you...

There's a reason the dolphins didn't give Miller as many touches as many felt he deserved

Only one problem w/ this logic....Lamar Miller sucks. Or the Dolphins would keep him.

Mickey, is that you?....lol

Miami can't keep him because they have to invest more $$$ on the Dline... again... first Suh, now Vernon... I think Wake wants more $$ too.

I'd do agree that he's not what Dallas needs.... I want at RB that makes me confidant on 3rd and 1 or less... I hope they draft CJ Prosise...
He's precisely what we need at RB...;-)

Elliott can still end up being Trent Richardson too. For as good as he's been in college, he's still unproven at the pro level. Just last year Melvin Gordon was a 'must-have' first round stud too but I don't see too many people still singing his praises either.

But...I probably still agree w you...

There's a reason the dolphins didn't give Miller as many touches as many felt he deserved

Probably the same reason they were all ultimately fired. Each and every one of them.

Sure thing, it's not like they're cap-strapped or anything, right?

And good running backs just never hit the market, right?

And certainly never the league's leading rusher...

Done yet or do you want to continue embarrassing yourself being repeatedly wrong?

Cowboys are in a great spot at 4.

They need a DE and DB and a QB.
Multiple pics in rounds 2 or 3 could result in finding starters at DT, LB, WR, RB as well as it looks like there will be quality there.

They can move Dow a little or more and secure additional quality picks with #4 or # 34.

Bosa would walk in and start at DE.
Ramsey would walk in and start at CB or S with Jones settling in at the other position.
Or they can pick a QB for development.

The real question is does Dallas need a superstar at 4 and another first rounder at 34, or are they better served with filling the roster with good starters at DE, DT, CB, and adding players LB, WR, RB, QB by turning 4 and 34 into a lower 1, and multiple 2's and 3's in a draft that's deep where Dallas is thin.

DALLAS -- In a surprise move, Jerry Jones traded down to the No. 28 pick in the NFL draft to draft a kicker from Wasamatah U in South Dakota, traded his kicker Bailey for 2 6th round picks in the 2017 and 2018 drafts.
Coach Jason Garrett says the draft got off to a good start because "It's a process the average fan does not understand."

Thanks for the clarification on QB's in next years draft, as stated I offered this scenario if the QB's in next year were better than this year, so appreciate your insight.
