McCarthy was never as good as when he was praised in Green Bay and never as bad as people made him to be here. Truth is in the middle and imo he’s a pretty damn good coach. Has his flaws- like most do but still pretty good.
The problem here is until we win big cowboys fans will always have a wandering eye for the bright shiny objects or big names.

I was listening to his take this morning. Better records than Reid, Caroll, Tomlin, Harbouogh, Bellichick w/o Brady and on par with Parcells who Cowherd thinks is a top 5 all time coach. Also said that the Cowboys redzone offense is #1 in the league and comapred it to the Packers who has Rodgers and better OL than Dallas. Said their redzone offense was ranked #24.

He was hailed as one of the top 3-4 coaches in the league and at one point on track to building one of the better coaching resume in league history.
He was never a top 3 coach in the league. So no he didn’t deserve as high as a praise that he once got.

Parcells' overall win percentage is skewed. He took over reclamation projects and bolted shortly after he turned them around. He's the best coach of that lot.
I've been preaching this about McCarthy since he's been here. The man is the Rodney Dangerfield of Head Coaches. No respect at all.
It's just interesting hearing this from Cowherd. Who absolutely crapped on McCarthy when the Cowboys hired him.

I mean, he got fired for something. No?
I haven't forgotten that Nolan, as his primary D - coordinator choice, not a good starting point look as well.
I'm not a fan as of his hiring or still now.
But let's see how it all plays out.
The best I got for him is a TBD so far.
He was hired based off his previous success to win playoff games.
Beat the 49ers and my opinion could be altered.
Same with the QB.

I share a vast majority of your opinions. Maybe my point was worded incorrectly as you point out how 2 coaching legends were fired as well. I counter with McCarthy could not hold Landry or Belichecks jock on his best day in coaching ability and I believe you know that as well.
No biggie.
I don't like the GM, HC or QB.
The Cowboys are still my team.

I actually don't know that. I wonder what McCarthy would have done if he had Tom Brady all those years. He certainly would have won a lot more and he's already on equal footing with the best of those that didn't have Brady.
Belichick got fired in Cleveland, was just okay in New England until Brady and now we see what he's like without him.
