Cowturd: Cowboys didn't show up because they knew Wade wouldn't demand it.

He actually called Wade Phillips a "Permissive parent".

We can't run the football

Have to go back to the Green Bay game to show a dynamic offense

Cowboys offense is elite and they are flat and can't run the football

Wade Phillips is Norv Turner with 45 lbs

The Cowboys locker room could use an earful but Wade Phillips will not give it to them

Cowboys are getting softer and mailed in in last night and they knew they could

Trey Wingo, an admitted Cowboys fan said to me last night (paraphrasing) that a couple of Cowboys players said they were there physically but not mentally

Says alot of teams had nothing to play for, like the Colts but still played hard

Barber/Jones is the best the best tandem in the League, have Pro Bowlers on the Offensive Line and Tight End and they still can't move the football

I have to agree with most of that, with the possible exception of the Norv comparison.

You mean like how the team showed up for Big Bill against the lions

Yep.

He is singing the praises of very loud and vocal coaches like Parcells, Belichick and Lombardi.

He doesn't like the Norv Turner and Wade Phillips of the world.

I guess he didn't see how the players mailed it under Parcells back in 2003 against the New Orlean Saints.

We didn't show up - that's a fact.

I'll leave it to you guys to hash out why.

Please get back to me when you have that answered!

Thanks

Canned answer : 'Nothing to play for'

Yet going after TEAM records was important to these guys.

Playoffs will be different as far as mindset, so the challenges will be different.

From what I saw it looked like a lot of guys where just trying to make it out of the game healthy. Period end of story they showed up tried not to get hurt and jump on the plane home to get ready for the playoffs

Cowherd is truly the worst kind of non-thinking, superficial, shock jock type of sports commentator. If it's in the popular perception, he spouts it with no real analysis. But he's wrong about almost everything. For example, saying that players would never play unmotivated football under Parcells because he wouldn't stand for it... Despite half the 2004 *season* being that way.

The part about Barber/Jones being the best RB tandem in the league is ridiculous... But it's a way to get another dig in at us.

Basically, he's an idiot.

Oh hi...I'm the Minnesota Vikings.

I think that what has happened is (some coach) exposed Jason Garrett's vanilla offense, and made a blueprint that he shared with the fairy elves in the land of make believe.

Also, we keep giving Julius the ball. This is a huge mistake. Hopefully he was mad last night because they told him those were his last carries this season. I wonder if he knows that he's better than Chester Taylor.

And why do you think that is? Do you think maybe the Cowboys had homefield all but sewn up and wanted to dial it down a little to give opponents less tape to prepare for our O in the playoffs?

It's hard to argue against Belichick right now and Lombardi!

True, but guys like Dick Vermeil and Tony Dungy have had alot of success in this league and they aren't rah rah guys.

Again, if Cowherd wants to criticize Wade Phillips for being "soft", why doesn't he criticize Bill Parcells for allowing the Cowboys to mail it in in 2003 against the Saints?

Then I wonder why neither the loud demanding type and the gentle leader type aren't working in December? What could be the problem?

Parcells 2 SB wins > Dungy AND Vermeil with 2 SB wins.

Parcells is not one of the "rah rah guys" either.
