Craft Beer

Not into Scotch but Whiskey and Tequila is something I get into. You being a Scotch person, have you tried Japanese Whiskey?

Nope, but I'm definitely game to try it. The problem I generally face with Japanese things is the only real Japanese foods I eat are Hibachi and some Sashimi and Sushi. I do not eat them all that often either.

Bud? hehe No way. Not to mention, Anheuser Busch uses way too much formaldehyde in their beer. I can't drink their products because it gives me headaches because of their high content of formaldehyde.

As for Heineken. I can't stand it or any beer like it. (Rolling Rock, Molsen, etc) That style/flavor of beer tastes skunky. Nasty stuff.

My favorite beers are Negra Modelo, Modelo Especial, Shiner, Stella Artois, Magic Hat and similar beers.

It's a cardinal sin to put fruit in beer. Beer isn't supposed to be fruity. That's girly beer. (no, I do not put fruit in Tecate, I prefer not to ruin it)

I used to drink Bud back in the day.
But now - and I have one very randomly. Then next day headaches also.

Scotch is my first choice....

Mine too. I'm a daily scotch drinker, but just 1 glass late at night during my reading hour. I like wine, but only with a meal and don't like to drink it socially. Beer I rarely drink unless I'm going to be outside for the day playing golf, fishing, hunting, camping, etc... Then it's Dos XX or Shiner only. Craft beer doesn't do much for me because it's usually too hoppy. I realize there are craft beers that have far less hops, but why spend time searching beers when there's a perfectly good Dos XX on tap right there.

Of the handful of craft beers I've had and liked most are wheat beers & pilsner. Alaskan, Boulevard, Harpoon, New Belgium, and North Coast Brewing are some I've enjoyed.

Idk if Bear Republic Racer 5 still counts as craft or not, but I think it's the best IPA out there.

Ithaca Cascazilla is easily my favorite American Amber/ Red Ale.

These are my favorite brewerie now that I'm in the NW. Moved from West Texas 2 years ago. Hard to pick 3.

Portland, OR Breakside - Breakside IPA, Mic drop Double IPA, Rainbows and Unicorns (session IPA)
Astoria, OR Ft. George collaboration with Barley Brown's & Melvin - 3 Way IPA, Vortex IPA, Cavatica Stout
Baker City, OR Barley Brown - Don Vanuchi Imperial Stout (Bourbon Barrel Aged)

Goodlife Brewing is good in Bend, OR and Russian River is great too in Cali.

If I had to pick 3 I'd go
Rainbows and Unicorn session IPA
3 Way IPA
Don Vanuchi Imperial Stout

This probably does not sound like a good beer but it really is :) Perfect beer for a hot day. It has just a hint of watermelon flavor. Sounds odd but it actually really good.

Have had a bunch of that beer; it's awesome on a sunny beach or picnic day.
