Did anyone notice how Tyrone Crawford drove the guard 5 yards back in a flash to pressure the quick throw by Wilson? I noticed a number of bull rushes by Crawford after rewatching and keying in on him. He seems to bull rush more than swim which is cool if you have the strength to make it work. He is country strong from what I see. Love it.

He was also the first to celebrate with Ro when he grabbed him in a bear hug. I love the swarming effort that this D plays with, but the love for each other is just as amazing!

Melton better come very cheap if he wants to stick around next year. Crawford is clearly the better player and will remain the starting 3-tech. I love having them both on the field at the same time in the Nickel, but there's no way you give a guy a fat contract when he isn't even the best at his own position.

He is showing such improvement since moving to DT it's been great to see.

even without sack numbers the pressures he is creating and the push in the middle is making a noticeable difference and really affecting opposing QBs. LOVE IT!

True but Dallas can renegotiate the contract as well. It is not the current contract or nothing. At the end of the year Cowboys could tell Melton we want you back but not at the current deal. Then it is up to Melton to work a deal or be released.

Yeah while if you just stat watch and just look at the numbers, you will think this defense, specifically the defensive line does not cause any havoc for the QB because they don't force any sacks. But that's far from the case. They have been pressuring the QBs and making them feel uncomfortable this season. And sometimes, that is just as good as a sack. Wilson had to hurry quite a bit of throws yesterday.

It's great.

I'm so glad that we won't be essentially "forced" to keep Melton after this year because of a lack of options at DT. I absolutely love that Crawford is coming into his own at DT... seems like the difference between him at DT and DE is night and day. Not sure what the coaching staff was thinking with trying him at DE for so long.

Yup add in the fact we have played several mobile qbs this year so far. I think our numbers will improve once we play some statue qb like Foles and Eli.

Crawford has very heavy hands. He really shocks opposing linemen with his punch, and it belies the fact that he weighs around 280 pounds. He also has a very good motor.

I'm developing a man crush on Crawford. Happy for him coming back strong from injury.

he disrupts plays quite a bit. another guy or 2 on the line like him in rotation would be so effective at dominating what teams could do

your correct. This is why he makes a better DT than DE. Dallas just needs to make sure they rotate properly because Crawford will always be little under-sized for DT.

I don't know the specifics of the deal. It would be great if we could bring him back for cheap. As far as I know, he agreed to give us a "discount" on a one-year trial year so that, if he performed well and we wanted him back, he'd make serious money in the future. As it stands, we probably want him back, but he hasn't lived up to earning serious money. If we aren't bound to the deal we made with him and we can bring him back for cheap, I'm all for it.
