Speaking of:

This is huge. He will help shore up our run defense. Outside of, dare I say it, that lucky 32 yard run - we really shut down Beast Mode yesterday (9 carries for 29 yards on his other touches). That took them out of what they wanted to do.

With Brent in there, I really like the potential of our run defense. Brent can help keep our LBers clean so that they make plays. Plus our secondary has shown the ability to tackle better.

If he can eventually give us 20-25 snaps per game I'll be happy.

I don't know the specifics of the deal. It would be great if we could bring him back for cheap. As far as I know, he agreed to give us a "discount" on a one-year trial year so that, if he performed well and we wanted him back, he'd make serious money in the future. As it stands, we probably want him back, but he hasn't lived up to earning serious money. If we aren't bound to the deal we made with him and we can bring him back for cheap, I'm all for it.

I agree currently could not justify the extension on the contract as it currently stands based on his play. I had seen on Cowboys insider that Dallas can renegotiate the contract at the end of the season. So we will see

Did anyone notice how Tyrone Crawford drove the guard 5 yards back in a flash to pressure the quick throw by Wilson? I noticed a number of bull rushes by Crawford after rewatching and keying in on him. He seems to bull rush more than swim which is cool if you have the strength to make it work. He is country strong from what I see. Love it.
Good observation. He is both strong and has quickness. It surprising how strong he is considering that he said that he was down to 273 pounds which is by far the smallest of the DTs.

Pump the brakes on Melton remember he is barely a year removed from full knee drama, and for a guy of his size that is a lot of pressure, IMO I see him making progress each week, at the end of the season it will not be a easy choice. Time for Stephen Jones to get some good deals before it is too late.

Wait a minute, just 2 weeks ago I read in here he wasn't making plays and was a wasted draft pick. True story.

I said "currently could not justify the extension" will that view change as the season goes on? sure it can but given right now I would not pay to extend the current contract which is 9 million next season. He is playing this year at a little over 1 mill.

If the team has concluded Crawford is a 3-tech and if he keeps playing like he has, the team may be willing to risk it and pass on Henry Melton's $9M option next year.

Edit: Sorry, I just read the first few posts. Looks like someone else mentioned this.
