Because he was being paid to be something he isn't. An impact player.

Crawford, 31, is considering retirement following the 2020 season, a possible closing of the book of a nine-year career that has seen him serve as a versatile "big daddy'' leader of the Dallas defensive line.
Thanks for your service brother. Get your body healed up and enjoy retirement. TC98
The man survived 9 puncture wounds. He played as hard as he could for the boys and was captain.
They feel terrible. Same way players feel when the watch the tape of guys like Jaylon and Woods. Same way they feel when their so called team leaders fail to lead. Same way they feel when it is obvious that players get money and play time based on how much Jerry likes them. How do you think other trench players feel when they see crawford making that much and being trash? Lol
See ya u should be set from the money he stole from Jerry on that bs deal ✌✌✌https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/sources-dallas-cowboys-d-line-leader-may-retire

I know ppl will focus on the contract and that is fair but if the Cowboys had more players with his attitude and less Jaylon Smith's they would be Superbowl Contenders. I ain't mad at him taking the bag of money the owner handed him. Hope he retires and has success in his future.https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/sources-dallas-cowboys-d-line-leader-may-retire

wow you hit the nail on the head hereGood riddance. He is the poster boy for Dallas mediocrity. Injured. Flex but can’t play either. Bad contract. Off the field issues. Wasted 3rd round pick. Stayed too long. Sold as a leader but never won a damn thing. The perfect modern day Dallas Cowboy.
