Great news considering it initially looked much worse. I hope he'll be back by the first philly game.

Good thing Melton has been getting better. Let's see how he'll do getting the bulk of the snaps. He's been on a killing spree lately.

Side note: Call me crazy, but Melton and Crawford are clearly our best D-linemen. It's not even close. And Melton has been getting better and better. He's been playing like a Pro Bowler the past 3 weeks. Now, our DEs are awful. Selvie is starting to show why he was on the scrap heap last season before we picked him up, and Spencer isn't earning a new contract by any means. Crawford, for the little time he played at DE, has been our best DE this year. Sure, he's been great at DT and maybe even better than DE. But I wouldn't mind seeing him back at SDE. We need to get our best guys on the line. With Crawford and Melton both playing 3-tech, Melton is only getting about 25 snaps a game. He needs more like 40. He's absolutely been a monster lately. We need Melton and Crawford on the field for 90% of the defensive snaps. That won't happen if they're splitting 3-tech snaps.

Hopefully, he's ready to go after the bye week.

He was coming along nicely as a valued member of the defensive line and a building block for the future.

Considering how Melton has played lately, we can work around his absence. Glad he'll be back, if for no other reason than seeing his continued development.

2-3 weeks ago I would be ruing this. That said, Melton has lit on fire, so I think we'll be OK.

Leary said he was going to practice this Wed. I would say that I was surprised that Bern was so poor yesterday. He did well last year. Need Leary back.

Bern moved okay, he just looked weak. Tyron was basically on an island against two very good rushers on that side every time they stacked Calais Campbell and Sam Acho on the left side.

Still the best LT in football. But that would be like trying to block D-Ware and 2011 Anthony Spencer if they were stacking against one tackle. Ain't gonna happen.
