Very similar. Crawford reminds me of Hatcher in a lot of ways.

Omg....I hope this guy brings more pass pressure than Hatcher...some things can't be measured.

Jason Hatcher is one of the best pass rushing 3-4 DEs in the league.

And Crawford's a better prospect coming out of college, so it should be fun to watch him develop.

My hope is Crawford can be worked into the rotation. As for Hatcher I don't think the guy is a bad player

Hatcher's big problem has been injuries. When healthy he's been a better than average player.

I'd love to see Crawford or Lissmore beat out Coleman for the staring nod.

That 1st down pass defense/lack of pass rush is bothersome.

I agree. In my view he is a good solid player my hope guys like Crawford can come in contribute as part of the rotation and develop into a good player for us. I don't see either as star players but guys who can come in make plays and help this team.

Hatcher is one of the better pass rushing DE's in the league. He's also pretty good at stopping the run in the base defense, better than Marcus Spears.

Let's hope the comparisons end there. I want better than Hatcher with that pick.

Better than average?

You must be watching a lot of bad players.

The Cowboys seem to be going for an ultra-light/ultra-fast 3-4 front.

Of course they don't employ at 325lb+ NT, and now they're headed to 285-290lb DE's as opposed to the typical 300lb+ DE's you see on a lot of 3-4's.

I like it.

I'd rather see slightly smaller/faster dlinemen.

Yep. He was better than average last year.

5 sacks, 6 QB hits, 14 pressures in a little over 400 snaps. That's good production.

His run defense was decent too.

He was better than just "better than average". He was among the best in the league at his position.

Oh, so you were grading him as a player based off his best year. Your GM tips his cap to you.

What about the other 5? 12 sacks in 6 years. What a terror.

Who are all the better ones you had in mind? On a per-snap basis he's clearly in the top quartile as a pass rushing 34DE. If there's a complaint to be made, it's that he doesn't get enough snaps.

Injuries held him back a great deal.

In his 250 snaps of 2010 he had 2 sacks, 2 hits and 11 pressures. Not a bad campaign.

I know...as if the list of 5+ sack 3-4 DE's is a long one.

He wasn't hurt all those years. And even if he was, wouldn't that make him less of a player since he can't stay healthy and thus not an above average player?

If he can put together more seasons like 2011, I'll agree with you. But 1 out of 6 doesn't convince me.

If we're looking back in 2018 and Tyrone Crawford has had a similar career I'll be disappointed.
