Can someone confirm if all 5 are up at end of year? Not sure on Barber, but thought the other 4 are pretty certain.
Now, unless Romo does a complete 180 degree turn in play he's gonna be the QB signed for a long time.
With Glenn hurt and career up in air (even with this surgery, he could be running close to bone on bone with that knee and it will be game to game to see if he is bothered by it for rest of career I'd guess). I think you have to resign Crayton. TO looks rejuvenated but can't keep up this play forever. If you don't resign Crayton, who will get looks and offers from other teams I'm thinking, then we have a real hole at WR. Drafted WR's can take some time to develop.
If we let Barber go I'd be sick. This guy is an awesome sparkplug and still has upside. Even if Julius isn't resigned. I would be ecstatic about McFadden or another high round RB draft pick sharing with Barber. He needs to stay in Dallas. We need playmakers. He's a playmaker. Jones hasn't been a playmaker like this since his early games with Dallas. If Jones turns it up 2 notches, then we can always resign him and use those 2 first rounders at other spots.
Flo is the big iffy one. I'm thinking the team is not thinking of resigning Flo. I think this is a mistake. A big one. It all depends on the money I guess, but there is no guarantee Free or Marten or McQuistan can play LT at the same level as a Healthy Flo. If we can resign Flo for a couple years and spell him once in a while OR what does everyone think of playing Flo at Left Guard? Could extend his career. Hear me out. Flo played right guard his first season (and even TE) with the Cowboys. He played well there if I remember. His biggest weakness is against Speed Rushers, usually agile, quick DE's, tweener LB'ers. Put him inside and you have another Leonard Davis. Flo is athletic enough for guard and probably better against big guys anyway. These guys are so huge that expecting them to have superhuman lateral speed and footwork is crazy. Imagine Flo at LG and Kosier as utility guard backup. If it doesn't work you move Flo back to LT till Free or McQuistan can do it well. DO NOT MOVE Davis from RG. That is a perfect spot for him and I don't want to see him back at Left Tackle.
Oh yeah what about Columbo? Is his contract up too? I think McQuistan/Free/Martens get his spot although I dread to think we change 2 oline spots when it seems we are just getting to the deep depth and stronger starting rotation from early 90's. Can't we wait one more year with this starting oline? Hehe. After Romo's signing I hope we have enough dough to resign all these guys. We also will have two first round picks next year to sign, one of which could be higher than we've signed in a long long time.
