How is that any better or different? I feel like that is almost worse or more humiliating - which would be exactly something Parcells would do, lol. Not say anything to Crayton all week, and then announce to the media that Austin is the starter, catching Crayton completely by surprise.

If Parcells had done that, we laugh at the mind games.

We have a different standard for judging things that Wade does. Maybe justifiably so, because he's a buffoon - but in this instance I don't think he deserves any criticism. He made a decision - the RIGHT decision - and like WV said, if Crayton is upset about it, he can fight to get his job back. Right now, he got beat. And his pride hurts, and he's upset, so he's dropping some "The staff ain't treating me right" nuggets to the media because "The Staff" makes a ridiculously easy target.

No big deal.

It's humiliating and humbling to be benched regardless. A coach not being man enough to tell you he's cutting your playing time is weak and reeks of doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. If you tell a guy something straight up they can come to terms with it easier, move on and see what they can do to make things right.

Agree 100%. Shut up Crayton. Earn it back, don't cry "it wasn't explained to me..." You said it yourself citing your bad play vs. Austin's good play.

Show me. Quit crying and complaining. I hate that.

I think if Parcells did it you would laud it, but because Bum is doing it you think it is bush-league. It's whatever.

I keep hearing about this Parcells guy who was this awesome coach here. Cowherd went on and on about it too the other day. What exactly did he accomplish here again?

He changed the entire course and focus of an organization. No small task, to my eyes.

In terms of winning things? Nothing.

But this was also a bottom 10 team when he got the reigns they improved from a talent and an on field perspective as his tenure went on.

Now, what has Wade Phillips accomplished?

Sure the team had a nice "ding, dong, ole witch Parcells is dead" year in 2007, but since then things have looked more bleak by the week for the Cowboys.

I wish Patrick wouldn't give it away to the other team halfway through the week. Without acknowledgement from the team, the opponents have to plan for both eventualities.

I hate rain on everyone's parade, but I picked up Miles this week in my fantasy league, so he's going to have 2 catches for 7 yards this week.:p:

to the media. Can you imagine this guy pulling this on Jimmy's team or even the Tuna? My gosh what a goat rodeo. I don't know how he found out and I don't care. He's like a jilted boyfriend that got dumped and is now complaining that his girl texted him about it...... Get over it and PLAY BETTER Pat....that's the bottom line........:banghead:

No joke, Crayton is lucky to make the team much less whine to the media about our coaches.

Get your torches and pitchforks, let the Crayton-crucifixtion begin.

"Sucking" is a bit strong. He's a good player, and can probably be an even better weapon for as when he's not starting. He's averaging like 17 yards per catch or something? I'll take that from our slot receiver. Miles may have beat him out, but Crayton's still going to be a big part of our offense.

I don't get the impression that Crayton is whining at all.

yeah, theres something about the word and/or concept of whining. People love to accuse others of doing that. It doesnt take much. If I had a nickel for every time I saw that word on a message board in the past year I could, well Id have alot of nickels.

I'll grant you that point superpunk: I should have been more specific admitedly. He needs to stop sucking SPLIT WIDE. He absolutely, positively has shown NO ability to get open or back teams off when split wide: period. I'll gladly admit he's solid in the slot. His lack of speed isn't noticeable there, runs good routes and has nice chemistry with Romo. My point was: he didn't get the job done split wide and was replaced: accept it like a man and move on. Moping around about it isn't gonna cut it IMO..........

Crayton has a right to complain. He has outplayed Williams. Yet Williams is going to start.

AS I said Abe....if you bench Roy for Austin you still have the issue of Pat not getting open when split wide. Granted, Pat's #'s are better than Roy's: but you have to admit alot of that is from ROmo air mailing Roy consistently like he did in Denver. AS I said above: Roy and Austin can't play the slot: Pat can and very well. It should be good enough. Going to the media to plead your case is almost as bad as not being told by the coaches you were demoted: if indeed that's the way it went down. This is a snapshot of why this team and organization are so dysfunctional and mediocre right now despite the on field talent. (IMO)

And if you start Austin in PC's position you move him to a position he really isn't used to playing
