Crayton or Glenn?

Sorry I like crayton...He has better hands and is reliable..Not to mention He can run a little after the catch.

I'll take crayton...

Apparently my question is ridiculous.
But Crayton's numbers are currently comparable to Glenn's best start to a season as a Cowboy. Glenn has never had more than 4 TDs at this point in the season and most years wasn't producing as well as Crayton currently is.
Glenn is a playmaker but he disappears in games often and we all know he is on the decline of his career due to age and wear.
Crayton is still young and fresh.

Guess I'm alone here.

Do it %-wise to get a better estimate, the O hasn't been this "powerful" either

Crayton. I don't think we will see Glenn back at 100%, and I think this is his last NFL season, period. Cowboys need to use him judiciously, he has ongoing knee issues. Do you really want him out there blocking on regular down run plays (like Crayton does, and does pretty well), risking that knee?

Glenn has been a trooper for the Cowboys, but he has to be put on the field wisely; and I think that means sparingly.

Glenn @ 100% is CLEARLY better than Crayton. He catches pretty much everything that touches his hands, has the speed to make defenses keep a safety deep, and SHOULD cause teams to leave either T.O. or Witten in single coverage. Even if he doesn't put up big numbers, his presence on the field demands the opposition's respect and should open up the passing game; Crayton doesn't give you that.

Who would you prefer to be on the field more if/when Glenn returns?

Has Crayton earned the #2 spot in your eyes?

I personally like Crayton at the #2 on the first couple downs and Glenn as the 3rd option on long downs and to stretch the field on occasion.

Assuming Glenn has regained his speed and form, I'd rather have him available. He is faster, and can get separation. Crayton struggles as the #2.

You are aboslutely nuts if you take a 100% Crayton over a 100% Glenn.

Better hands...... I think not!

Crayton struggles as a #2 WR?

Crayton's season projections...

64 catches, 1016 yards, 11 TD's.

He's so slow that he's currently 12th in the NFL in Yards Per Catch of all WR's with at least 20 catches.

That's playing with the broken finger, and missing the Miami game because of it.
That's nothing short of excellent production from a #2 WR. Especially for a guy who is generally the third target in his offense.

Given the blanket coverage of Witten and Owens, I would have liked to see more from Crayton in the NE game. He stepped up big against Chicago, but not so big against NE.

No question about it, give me BOTH on the field at the same time. Why does it have to be one or the other?

how about we leave Pat at the #2, and have Terry play the slot? I think that would really leave defenses in a tizzy... do u double team TO and leave a dime back on TG?

Pat's been solid... Glenn is better but not by so much that it warrants redoing the lineup.

If Glen was healthy this wouldn't even be a question. So no, Crayton has not earned the #2 job.

Is this a serious question? Do you guys really respect Crayton's game that much? I sure don't.

Crayton gets taken out of most games by single coverage. He occasionally shows a spark, but Glenn would consistently beat single coverage, and that would elevate TO's game and get Hurd off the field where he gives us next to nothing as a 3rd receiver.

Quite a mystery how a guy routinely taken out by single is on pace for a 1,000+ yard and double digit touchdown season? I guess he's making all these yards and touchdowns because teams just don't even bother to put a guy on him. I know that single cornerback package is all the rage in the NFL these days.

Oh, I forgot ... we're in internet messageboard land where actual production on the football field takes a back seat to hype and perception. Crayton has plenty of the former, but not enough of the latter, and that's all that matters.

Romo looked iffy, he's got to be loose and go deep down the field...

A healthy Glenn is more of a feared WR, no offense to Crayton but Glenn's speed was world class...

Was that Glenn on the bench the other day with the wrap around sunglasses??

TO, Glenn#2, Crayton in the slot. Agreed.

Gimme both, and it doesn't necessarily have to be a 3-wr set. I think what you will see happen is a 60-40 split with Crayton getting more time when Glenn gets back. Then when Glenn gets re-acclimated, you'll see the numbers reverse with Glenn getting more time. Either way though, with the different packages, you'll see Crayton almost as much as you'll see Glenn.

I see your point but your logic is flawed in one key area. One big game grossly inflates the year end projections. If you want to be accurate then take the high and the low out of your average and then run your numbers.

In this case we remove the Miami game since he had all zeros in that game, and we remove the St. Louis game since it was so out of character for his on-field performance and we end up with numbers like this:

Receptions 68
Yards 788
Touchdowns 8

Makes a HUGE difference in perceived value.

I would take Glenn over Crayton but I certainly like the idea of going to a three wide base. I think Crayton is an exceptional #3 receiver, but he doesn't scare opposing defenses.
