Since Crayton used to be a QB, do you think we should use him in some trick plays to get the ball down the field? Since the guy used to be a QB in college, why not use his talents on certain plays?

I think we tried that last year, and had a bad Center exchange.

That said, I wouldn't mind us trying a flea flicker or reverse (or two) to keep the Skins defense off balance . . . .

I'm surprised Crayton is not our holder on FGs. He has the best hands on the team, he's more athletic than the back up QBs, and can throw the ball well enough to get it done on a trick play.

I like flea flickers but only if the defense is really playing the run really hard. As for using Crayton on a pass play or two, I think it would be great to try it again. It could be very useful if we need to loosen up the defense. Especially if the defense is really playing the run hard.

I still tihnk that our offense will throw out some trick plays, but less than the last 2 years. Parcells likes to keep teams off balance with thsoe types of plays. But in the past, the lack of a running game, or lack of WR's has caused us to use strange measures to move the ball. If your offense can score just by pounding and running effective routes, there's almost no point to setting up a slow developing trick play.

How about he just be the hot read on a blitz?

I remember the Cowboys of the 70's were always good for a trick play or two. Maybe we don't have the coaching staff that is willing to think outside the box in terms of play calling every once in a while but it sure would be fun to see and give the other team a little more to think about.

How many of you out there remember the many fake punts that we used to call when we had Danny White as our punter? I can't remember the last time I saw a faked punt.

Old Joe Gibbs would have to be pretty desperate to resort to this forum for insider tips on how to beat our Cowboys.
