Is OGBOGU starting?

Did Ward?

Did we see how fast Ryan Young was out when his knee failed?

Richie Anderson when he hedged on a surgery?

Adrian Murrell used and tossed aside?

Bill has never, but NEVER played one of 'his guys' to the detriment of a BETTER player.

Is Aaron Glenn gonna start?

I hope you were expounding on my post, 'cause I'd hate to draw the ire of you concerning Tuna.:D

I do think when everything is close, he'll go with what he knows over potential, i.e. he'll play favorites with his "old" Parcells guys.

But I don't think he'll do it if the player is not better for the team.

IF BP would have sat VT for the remainder of the year after week 12 or 13 or whatever, could it have kicked DH into gear? We'll never know now BECAUSE OF THAT BIAS TOWARDS BP'S "BOYS" IN THE SKILLED POSITIONS.

Bottom line: Parcells is gonna try to win every game.

Whether we think the season is lost or not, whether we want to evaluate players or not, he plays to win the game. Each and every game.

In the DH case, all but a few diehards now agree Bill was RIGHT not to play him last year.

He was NOWHERE near as ready as some of us wanted to believe, and did not deserve to be on the field.

Nor did his teammates deserve him to be regardless of the record.

Ferg, Marco, Key, etc all the FAs brought in to start do indeed have to prove they deserve to. They might have been brought in to start, but they can quickly lose that status. They have to keep proving it, too.

Had Key sucked in camp last season, shown he could not do the possession role, he'd have been benched.

Fergy was specifically brought in to be the starting nose.

But he won't, because due to his injury and Glover's play this summer, La'Roi deserves the job.

Again, read my original post...it had to do with the "skill" positions.

If you wish to believe that Key would have been benched...more power to you. We all know that BP would have played him, and when the reporters asked him why, he would just say that ..."KJ is just having a rough time right now, but will work his way out of it."

Expounding with a vengeance!

He trusts experience, BZ.

They ALL do. :p:

I understand that point and agree with it to a certain degree.

If I were a player on the team and saw a guy come in to play that I have been seeing in practice is NOT the guy that gave us the best chance to win that week, I would most definately be pissed.

But, there comes a time to get your franchise moving forward in that skill position....ESPECIALLY that position.

When that time is? Who knows....all that I know is that we could have drafted quite a few QB's the last couple of years who had no time away from the game and weren't in a small college....yet we didn't do it cuz we had VT....and now Bledsoe.

Perhaps that's the point.

JJ said he had a great pre-season last year....perhaps the best of all WR's....yet....no trust relegated him back on that squad.

That's the point I'm trying to make here.

I may be talking with no basis here (big surprise :D ) But if he was not one of "Bills Guys" last year....I am willing to be bet he is a "bills guy" now.

Once again I could be wrong, I have no quotes or anything to say that he is indeed on that level now...But I just think he is now and he will be used.

I think bill trusts him now, I think he has earned bills trust.

Let's hope I am right because I think this kid just has "It" whatever it can be defined as in football. :D

Bill has brought in two young Qbs and had to waste a full year developing Jerry's boy Q and assessing Jerry's boy Hutch.

That makes four young QBs who have been in the mix since he arrived.

The two vets he did bring in are Vinny, who was considered the IDEAL backup at the time.... not VT's fault, nor Bill's fault Q self destructed after the developmental year Bill wasted on him.

This year he brings in Drew B, the best FA QB that was on the market.

Perhaps had Bill not been saddled with evaluating and trying to devleop Q and H, he would have gone with Lefty over Tnew, no that a cb wasn't a dire need as well.

But realistically, this roster in 03 was so poor, it has taken this long to get it decent enough so ANY QB could work with it.

Meanwhile, there are still two young QBs being developed, one who progressed far enough not to have to bring yet another vet in as a back up..

Folks seem to forget what the roster was like just two years ago, and that there have been NO vet backups behind Q in 03, VT in 04, or Drew in 05.

Some, I daresay most coaches, would have had TWO vets here right along.

Bill is doing more to develop youth than most HCs, panicky over job security, would do.

03: Quincy, Hutch, Tony

04: Vinny, Tony/Drew

05: Drew, Tony, Drew

That's a commitment to QB development if ever there was one.

I can't think of another coach who would have done one of those years, and the fear/hope VT was on speed dial was present here right up til this week. .

Well....let me just say I'm happy for you that you think we are set at QB for the future. I for one don't see it.

But, let's not say that Bledsoe was the best QB out there available. I'm with Hostile on this as well....I would be happier with Warner. Although with the only other Vet QB's out there, I'd say that Bledsoe was up there.

But, he's just a band-aid....and in my opinion, the future is still somewhere out there in college somewhere now....not on this team yet.

Man, I wish I had the optimism that you do about our QB situation.
