How do the wide receivers fit now?

The Cowboys entered the draft without a glaring need with a wide receiver. At least that's what they've said all along. But with Dez Bryant, there does appear to be too many guys for too few spots. Somebody has to go.

We know it's not Miles Austin. They said it's not Roy Williams. Where does Patrick Crayton fit? Kevin Ogletree? Sam Hurd?

"We'll see how it plays out," coach Wade Phillips said. "You can play four wide receivers. You don't have to play three. You can play four. That's my job. What I have to do is get the ball to the best players. That's what I'm going to do."

Four wide receivers? Where does that leave Jason Witten? Jerry Jones pointed to injuries during the season as a reason to keep as many good players as possible.

Maybe a trade market can develop. Say what you want about Patrick Crayton, but he is producitve and he does not come at a hefty price. There could be a market for him. His agent, Fred Lyles, said he plans on talking to the Cowboys on Friday.

"I'm not surprised with the direction of the Cowboys," Lyles said. "Patrick is a professional and accepts the decisions associated with the NFL business."

Thanks for everything you've done Patrick, but it's time to move on....

Says nothing about him being moved.

It makes since to move him but what could we get?

I imagine if we trade anyone we are going to package a deal.

I certainly would hate to see Patrick go because we're stuck with that ****face Roy Williams.

It doesnt say it but if you read between the lines of the agents comments, it kinda sounds like he expects it or is going to ask for it.

I figure Crayton could fetch a 4th or 5th if it was for a pick straight up.

Crayton could probably fetch a 5th at best. Id take it.

Agreed. We would be lucky to get a 5th for him. Maybe if it's a 2011 pick.

I wouldnt! Id keep him for that. not saying hes worth more but i certainly wouldnt take that trade. Only way i move him without getting at least an early 3rd is as a package to move up

PC could yield a 5th or later pick ... but I'd far rather have him here. Solid #3 WRs do not grow on trees. You simply cannot have 3 receivers who all think they should be #1s as your 1-3. It is a bad mix. PC knows he's a 2-3 guy. You need that in the mix.

A good GM would keep Patrick and get rid of Roy.

Definetely use him and/or picks to move up in R2.

Stupid jerk media didnt ask about this at the presser

To me it sounds like they are accepting that Dallas drafted Dez and that he is prepared to deal with that.

I don't get the vibe he is getting moved from that at all.

Jerry has a plan though and he is going to execute that sucker tomorrow night. I cant wait.

I think they just want to see where he fits into the plans. And then ask Jerry if he would give him a chance to contribute more elsewhere.

I'd much rather have Crayton than Roy Williams.

When you consider contracts and Romos chemistry with Romo? Yeah i'd rather have Crayton too.
