Crazy stat I saw

Since 1997 the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Commanders, and Detroit Lions are the only teams not to play in an NFC Championship Game. :banghead:
And there is only 1 common denominator throughout that time. Hmmmmm?

This post hurt me more than anything else I have seen on this board in years. Thanks OP.

Fail to Jerrah :lmao2:

Right. I loved watching those teams play.
My dream is to see that here with a Defense that beats the hell out of people like the current Seahawks do.

With 2 playoff wins since 1996, we are in the bottom quartile of all NFL teams. Only the depressed rust belt / rust belt periphery teams: Buffalo Cleveland, Cinci, Detroit and KC have worse playoff records. The top quartile teams average close to 9 victories over that same period with NE topping the list with 19 playoff victories and counting. I looked at these stats when Jerry talked about the parity NFC Superbowl winners since the early 90's, which I thought understated our shortcomings over that period.

Sorry! My intention wasn't to depress anyone etc. I just couldn't believe that there was only 3 teams that haven't played in an NFC Championship game since 1997. It hurts me too! Let's hope starting next season is the start of something great :D

Another depressing stat :bang2:

Now all of my family and friends that are Browns fans can bond about something with me!

Both Car and Jax have both made conference championships. We are hitting a long drought and I hope with an emphasis on addressing our Olines we begin to make a run.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!:laugh2:

It must feel terrible being a Lions fan. At least we have 5 superbowls to hang our hats on. They don't have anything! They only went to one NFC championship in 1991 and lost to 41-10 to the Commanders.

That will change next year...2 teams will come off of that list....Lions will play at Cowboys. Leaving the Commanders as the sole team not to play in it......

Yeah great point :D

2 of 3 of those teams suffered from meddling owners and they all suffered from poor GM's.

Things can always be worse :D

Oh come on, that Greatest Show on Turf team was awesome.

They were the absolute Apex of the Don Coryell offensive system where they not?

I've never seen a team come so far from left field to blow the doors off the league in a single season like that.

Same here.

Funny thing is they donewith highly unconventional thinking.... a tiny DE/OLB in Irvin, two massive CBs who are bigger than what is thought to be "good" at the position.... etc etc

I love it when teams defy NFL norms like this and have success.

Yeah that does suck. But we were in 4 straight prior to that.
