I think you're giving Jerry too much credit here.
The only two good things that he has done for this franchise were bring in Parcells and Jimmy Johnson, who were both great football minds and made the franchise respectable. Unfortunately, he ran both of them off, and now he's doing his best Al Davis impersonation while the media just loves all the punch...er, "storylines" that develop out of valley ranch. Anybody who says Parcells "quit" on this team is blatantly ignorant. He had no intention of dealing with Jerry and his meddling ways and the TO signing pushed it over the top. I'm sure Jerry was happy to see him go at the time so that he would get all the credit if the team continued to develop like it should have, and went on to win the Super Bowl. The only problem with Jerry's little plan was that he has absolutely no idea what he's doing, so the team regressed uncontrolably and now we're sitting here hoping that the 2009 season ends quickly so that we can get a new head coach. That's basically 3 seasons of a Super Bowl window down the drain since our playoff loss at Seattle...all because Jerry took back over and destroyed 4 years of work by Parcells (including sound development of Romo).
The only positive thing that most Jerry loyalists can defend is that he's willing to spend as much money as needed to win. Unfortunately, he spends it blindly with reckless abandon and no concrete plan. We spent years making fun of Snyder for bad decisions in DC, but the truth is we have the king of all idiots making even worse decisions here.
