Criticism of Jerry and Wade is not justified

I'm new here, but I feel the need to speak up about all of the unwarranted criticism of our owner and head coach.

Just to remind you long time cowboy fans in case you forgot, Jerry Jones bought a sagging franchise and single handedly restored it to glory. And in just four years under his leadership, we won our first of three world titles in the 1990's. No team is going to win a championship every year and we are going through the motions, but he has done a lot of great things the last few years to get us back on track including hiring Wade Phillips. He has also done many great things for the Dallas community and his lifetime achievements are legendary.

As for Phillips, I think he has unfairly criticized for his playoff record, but as a head coach in the NFL he has only had one losing season in 7 full seasons as a head coach. Also it's not his fault that he has a QB that is a turnover machine that lacks the intangibles it takes to win games when they matter most in december and january. It's also not his fault that our roster is loaded with overrated and overpaid fatcats that refuse to listen to him and lack discipline and heart on the field.

Speaking of Romo, signing him to a long term contract was probably the worst move Jerry has made as GM, but he's far from the worst QB in the league, just not a top 10 elite player that is going to lead us to a championship without a top 5 defense like Balitmore or Pittsburgh.

Jerry has already said the coaching staff is in place, and I'm confident that Wade will have this team in the superbowl again within the next five years as we continue to trim the useless fat from this roster! Get er done Jerry!

Welcome.

I agree with some, but we'll have to agree to disagree with some other things on here.

Welcome to the zone. While I agree that some of it's not needed I think it would be impossible for anyone to actually proclaim that they don't have plenty of it that is warranted.

They've brought a lot of this heat on themselves and deservingly so.

Welcome friend, but I don't share your views on Jerry. Jerry hit it rich on his first choice of the head coach of this team, Jimmy Johnson. To put it in my layman's oil man terms, "the first thing you know oh Jed's a millionaire". But after Jimmy, when Jerry TRIED TO BE THE SINGLE HANDED REASON for the success of this franchise, he began drilling empty holes. Parcells helped us get respectable again, and Jerry has gone back to prospecting since he left.

I hope your optimism is rewarded for that will mean great things for all of us.

I hate to be the one to pour some reality juice on your post, but those SBs are ancient history. Kids have been born and reached puberty since then with zero playoff wins.

Jerry Jones has GM'd this franchise to the worst decade of its existence by far. He would have fired any other GM for this if it were not himself. He certainly had no problem firing Landry and Schram despite their documented success throughout the years.

Now that Millen has been fired, Jerry takes over as the worst GM of the last decade.

Couldn't agree more. Jerry bought 3 Championships before the salary cap. Jimmy Johnson was responsible for winning the Lombardi's...just my 2 cents.

Also, I don't blame Wade one bit...he is what he is. Jerry knew what he was getting when he hired Wade. The blame, and I mean ALL the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of our GM.

Parcels, helped us get respectable, again are you serious?
yeah, we went 10-6,6-10,6-10, and 9-7, you call that respectable? Come on man.

:welcome: to The Zone. You'll take some heat for your opinion. Be tough and embrace the heat.

Jerry is the number 1 reasons for our failures, it's been covered a lot on this board.

Wade is also the problem, but he can do something about it since he's going to be here.

Romo could be a top 3 QB if he worked on a few important things. He has mad natural skills, but he needs to get serious, and I mean very serious.

This post reeks of contradictions.

Wade Phillips won't be around 5 years from now. As a matter of fact, I am pretty sure next year will be his last.

I can see defending one or the other, but both men?

I love me some hot dogs!

Oh, hell yeah!

Switzer was hired for the ride...and for Jerry and Jimmy's mishaps or mis-understandings.

He won a SB, but he was not good for the team. Although, I do enjoy his Coors Light commercials!

Switzer is a character, nothing else. However, he is funny.
