Crow, Read before you Vote.

I'll side with the "He Stays" group for this vote, however...

I am standing against those who make personal attacks against posters in the CowboysZone. Disagree with an opinion; use valid arguments to counter another's post; shoot, even take a good spirited, humorous jab at a regular poster that you enjoy debating, but let's end the mean spirited, gang banging of other users.

It's easy to post wry comments or duragatory insults or rolling eye icons. Anyone can sit back and find fault in other's posts. It's the posters who post informed opinions or inside information or thought-provoking questions that make this site so widely respected by serious Dallas Cowboys fans.

The moderators have developed a good set of rules to guide the forum. My thanks to them for running this site, and thanks to the posters who have challenged themselves to abide by the high standards of The CowboysZone.

I voted "Stays". However, to be fair I need to say that I had doubts about if hed stay or go.

After watching him play against Arizona, I decided that he'll probably stay with Burnett eating into his playing time as the year goes on.

One pre-season game may be a little pre-mature to make a judgement, but at this point that's all we have to go on... So I voted "Stay".

When is Nors going to vote in this thing??? If Nors doesn't vote, I say the deal is off!!

I don't see a vote from Nors?!

Nors isn't going to vote in this thing. He is backing out of something that he at first agreed to. He stated in my first attempt at this (forgot to include the ability to see who voted) that his cap figure and age would mean that if he's not the starter than he is off the roster, if Singleton is on the roster at the beginning of the season, he would eat crow for two weeks. This is why I included the note on there have been a few changes from my last try. Problem is, I asked Cbz to delete the thread not knowing that it would be relevent. He did not follow what he states, which I'm not surprised.

As to the deal being off, NO.

First of all, the world doesn't revolve around Nors. This deal was created as a challenge to Nors, but just because he did not accept, I will not call it off. The people who have placed a vote will be accountable when the time comes.

Secondly, that would also prove what Nors was originally using as an excuse to be true, the idea that this thing would change so much that it wouldn't be fair, and I'm not going to yield to that.

Finally, this little thing has earned me a little name recognition, and who wants to take that away :D

Ok...so let me get this straight. Nors has been saying "Als" will get cut before the season starts because he's on the "wrong side of 30", has a 2 mil cap hit, is too small, and doesn't make plays, etc. Yet he won't vote or agree to the terms of this bet? I guess he doesn't know Parcells as well as he claims or he'd easily participate in this fun little bet. :p:

Wonder if he'd agree to your terms if the Crow Contest was about Al Johnson being the opening day starter over Gurode?

I was an idiot and didn't read the thread before voting. I just can't follow directions. I think he stays.

Nors wanted to control the bet. He wanted it to be Al cut or Burnett starts by week 6 versus Al staying.

When he did not get his way, he took his ball and went home.:D

I did the same thing. I was thinking more like should he go. I do believe he will stay even though he is not much of a LB.

I don't have a dog in this fight....

Just label me a "very interested spectator" :D

Parcells isn't going to cut Al Singleton this season and he knows it.

Can we sticky this, its seems to keep things quite around here...lol...J/K...well, maybe.

The outcome of the bet would not have mattered anyway.

Al gets cut we hear about it over and over. Al does not get cut and the first time he misses a tackle or Burnett plays we hear how we should have cut him over and over.

Ahhhh....the majority of you guys are still sensitive over the fact that Nors called the 3-4 switch over a year ago and most here argued with him.

Just out of curiosity, and since this a contest of sorts to see who's right and who gets to brag about it, is there any kind of Pick'em contest among Zone members (picking NFL games)? Such as the free ones that Yahoo! runs every season.

I think the people who are answering this question might be exactly the type who enjoy a good spirited competition.

Singleton stays, FWIW. I guess.

I haven't said anything bad about Singleton, and I'm not going to start now, but I went with 'goes' Its always tough to find roster spots to keep your young guys, and with Crowder and Thompson showing strongly on special teams, this year will be no different. I think it might be kind of all or nothing for Singleton. IOW, the only way for him to stay on the roster may be for him to win the starting job. If Burnett or Thornton steps up and Singleton starts moving down the depth chart, BP will probably go with a guy who play ST. He already announced Shanle was going to see a lot of snaps in the nickel. If Jerry/Bill/Steven/Mike have the choice between hanging on to Singleton or developing Fowler or Love, they might look at that $2M salary and decide to give one of the kids a shot.

Another possibility is that they cut Al, then resign him to a lower salary, or bring him back later in the season. I think if he's cut and resigned or takes a pay cut, all crow avatars should be cancelled.

Nors simply advocated a switch to the 3-4 knowing full well Parcells ran that defense 15 out of 18 seasons as HC. I wouldn't call that going out on a limb by any means. With that said, most people who debated Nors last year about this simply said we didn't have personnel to run the 3-4 at that time. I think with the free agent additions and the heavily defensive draft, that isn't as much of an issue anymore.

He stays, but this may be his last year with us. We need his leadership this year, but next year Burnett will step into that role.

3-4 is a good call, with BP tho it was not un-expected. Ty Law, bad call, tho it was not un-expected.

The point is, anybody can make a bunch of "Calls", some are right, some are wrong.

Some people just crow a lot when they are right and make excuses and don't admit it when they are wrong. Nors has shown that pattern here at times.

I think the guy knows his sports, but just rubs people the wrong way, so when you do, you should expect to get flack.

I thought QC would be a great QB, I really did. I was wrong. I admit it.

See, I feel much better now !
