Troy Aikman made a valid claim when he said that many fans go to Cowboys' games to be seen and not heard. To them, it's a social event.

They also bring their own Grey Poupon Dijon mustard and goose liver pate to put on their gin crackers. It's not unheard for those ultra socialites to bring their eye, ear, nose and throat specialist to a Cowboys football game.

OK, I'll take your word for it. Gotta admit, it's a theory I've never encountered yet.

If they drank more wine that might solve the problem....I’ve been to games in Baltimore where my head shakes and they drink a lot more there then I see in dallas

The game I was at, the crowd in the stands were loud. It was probably 60/40 Cowboys/Steelers fans. At one point, the "Here we go, Steelers, here we go!" was eventually drowned out by "Here we go Cowboys..." and when both sides were going it was as loud as any other normal NFL stadium. Of course, we kept it going as long as possible since the Cowboys were on offense at the time.

But on the other hand, I've heard from sound engineers that even when the crowd is near peak volume, it seems that the noise doesn't come down to field level well at all. He described it like a rolling fog that never gets below 20-25ft from the ground.

And forget about how quiet it may seem on TV. Almost all crowd noise you hear is from crowd microphones placed around the stadium - pumped primarily through the surround channels (mixed back into your 1 or 2 speakers if you don't have surround) - and that volume is set by the engineer to whatever level they feel gives the best presentation. The only exception, with a good 5 channel mix the announcers are placed primarily in the center channel - if you hear the announcers are clearly talking over the crowd noise reaching their mics, then it's a good indicator that the crowd is unusually loud. Even that though can be deceiving based on differences between how well the announcers' booth is insulated from crowd noise at different venues.

No there won’t be, this teams fans go when we are good which we are...I’d say maybe 20 percent is likely

Seattle designed their stadium to pump crowd noise back into it. It borders on shady.
AT&T stadium was designed for more than just games. It was designed as an experience....and thus crowd noise wasn't considered as an important issue....and it shows. Not to mention that Jerry Jones priced out a lot of the less economically fortunate fans and many of the seats are corporation owned, attended by casual fans, or even non-fans who just want the experience. Additionally, due to the prices of season tickets, some resell game tickets to recoup costs to fans of opposing teams. All of this leads to a lot less noise than you'd expect in a full stadium.

the crowd at at&t is no different than fans at any other stadium. Resell tickets happen at EVERY stadium, at every type of event possible. Look at stubhub RIGHT now and see how many tickets are available for every NFL game.

No doubt seattle and New Orleans are the 2 loudest stadiums I have ever been to. The stadium design is the single biggest reason IMO. The Packers playoff game 2 years ago at AT&T was packed and everyone was up and yelling......... but I dont think it was as loud as last week at the Superdome.

Most shopping malls are built to be quiet and peaceful, not to amplify crowd noise. Jerry's is no different.

Another way to look at it is like this - one stadium was built to maximize Jerry's bank account. How many events do you think the stadium in Seattle hosts compared to Jerry World? Jerry built it to be a venue for events (concerts, monster truck rallies, rodeos, boxing matches, basketball games, etc) in order to pad his wallet. Football was never intended to be the main priority.

There's always something going on there, all year round. I attended a dinner event there back in 2012.
