PFT is reporting that Culpepper is without a good home. I know almost nothing about Dante. I do know that I hate what I saw of Johnson last year. What do you guys think? If he is mobile, I think he could be a decent option for a downed Romo (not that I would want anyone but Romo there)

Culpepper would require no picks, no idea on cap hit or whether he has accepted that he's a backup now.

Better than Chris Simms or Johnson as an option?

What do you think about Matt Jones as a possible receiver signing?

Considering that Matt Jones is a WR... yes!!!
But Chris Sims is no longer weighed down by a spleen so I expect him to be quite mobile.

I have always liked Daunte. Wouldn't be opposed to it for the right price.

Is that his rap? Poor work ethic. I had thought he switched teams for $$$. Then got injured. Then had weird coaching situations. But again hadn't followed closely. Just worried Johnson's social security and medicare payments are going to affect our cap somehow and wonder about experienced options.

Donte for the minimum or little better would be a great pickup.

Is Jones a FA? I have not read anything on him........but, he should be signed.

I don't think he's the type to fully except a backup role yet. Simms is probably a better fit.

Signed but I have been seeing rumors that he may be released

So it sounds like the worry would be in attitude (either lazy or too arrogant) Sounds like the bus driver argument. Don't really think Culpepper would fit that mold. But if it was just a skills question... Does anyone still think he has them. Would you take him over Simms on a purely skills basis?

Culpepper suffered a major knee injury while still with Minnesota. He then went to Miami and was rushed back into playing before being 100% healthy. He re-injured his knee. He then went to Oakland. I don't think he ever got fully recovered and it sure is hard to tell how good any one is doing stuck in either Oakland or Miami over the past couple of seasons.

The right price to me is the vet minimum. I think with the way the last few years have gone for Culpepper, he may be happy to get that with some team. Of course there will be a team that offers a little more.

Culpepper still has room in the tank, if I was him I'd consider playing for either a Super Bowl contender or seeking a starting role. I'd take him if he would play second fiddle..

Culpepper was only good when he was throwin to Moss and Carter.

He was only good when he was healthy, which happened to be when he was throwing to Moss and Carter. In Culpepper's last really productive season Carter was already retired and Moss missed a few games and was not close to 100% for several more. Culpepper was not reliant on Moss during that season. I don't know if Culpepper is fully healthy even now.

Now Farve would be a good backup

Farve is winless in Texas stadium so i don't know if I'd go that far :laugh2:
