Why do I expect that Ro is going to hit another positive test right after camp breaks?

I think there's a line with 3 - 1 odds in Vegas he'll test negative.. Good thing TC is not in CO or WA or odds would be 1-1

To be fair, Beasley did not do it 3 times.

I think Ro wants to be out there and playing, I think he is a very good MLB and glad he is here. What took place in the past with other teams is in the past. He got a fresh start in Dallas

and with many personal issues McClain was going through the same could be said for him. He had to get his life in order.

I don't think I would compare the two and their situations; they are two different character types.

yes but both had their own issues and reasons. Ro is here and I think he wants to be here and not coming down on him for what took place somewhere else. People want to question his love of the game that is fine that is their opinion but you guys are not in his head or know what he feels. I also do not know how he feels what I do know is Cowboys wanted him here and he claimed he wanted to be in Dallas. Good enough for me.

Who is, "you guys?" I don't recall commenting about his (McClain's) "love the game" or what is inside his head. My point: Different players with different situations under different circumstances.

As far as I'm concerned, keep him on the team; he produces when he is on the field.

I mean people here who like to question the love of the game of players. Sorry for lumping you in with others.

Ro had a lot of personal issues as well, he has been and is dealing with. Is he the same type of person as Beasley? no but then seldom is anyone alike. People cut slack on Beasley for one reason he started to produce on the field.

I agree. Beas may get a break because he is the underdog without the measurables. Ro may catch flack because he is the premier football specimen.

Sean Lee must be losing his mind considering how much he puts into this. Idc how good Ro is and I'll cheer for him when he makes plays but he doesn't ever deserve more then small contracts

I agree no one likes to see wasted talent, but based on things I had read and heard from McClain and where his life was going, the best thing he could have done was step away from the game and get his life and family matters in order. This is still a game and family means a lot more especially when you are on the verge of losing it all.

Rolando!" The old man turns to his family at the nearest table. "That's Rolando McClain!"
For a moment, McClain's face -- scruffy and cherubic and subtly earnest -- seems to freeze. He knows the range of images associated with his name. Some might remember his résumé as an All-SEC linebacker, national champion and the No. 8 pick in the 2010 draft, by the Raiders. Others think of him only in handcuffs, arrested three times in 16 months in his hometown of Decatur, Ala., two hours north. They remember a smirking arrest shot for the ages.
What they probably don't know or understand is the remarkable decision that put McClain back here in Tuscaloosa. Just five months earlier, under contract with the Super Bowl champion Ravens, McClain sensed that he was about to self-destruct like Jovan Belcher or Aaron Hernandez or any of the NFL's many cautionary tales. So he just walked away from football. The sports world is littered with bitter, broke or jailed 35-year-old versions of Rolando McClain. But there are few 24-year-old athletes who would have left the NFL to do what he did: McClain re-enrolled at the University of Alabama and moved back to the town that had once brought out the best in him.
The old man seems to remember it all, every twist and turn. He turns to McClain and says, "I'm glad you're here."
McClain seems relieved. "Me too."

McClain's on a cheap contract, so I don't get all the fear-mongering over him. It's not like he's getting paid 5+ million a year for several years.

This article is the epitome of why I will root for McClain's success all day every day. The mere fact that he has extraordinary intelligence makes it so much easier.

He was smart enough to realize that his life was getting out of control and knew he has to do something before it was too late.

I get the fear mongering. It's all about the stereotype. They don't believe he deserves the time or space.

...and when he did, he went back to school. Plus took courses in financial management. Plus he already managed the money he had wisely (except for the perceived obligation to the leeches).

This.

I get the negative baggage that comes with Rolo but until I hear teammates speak negative towards McClain, I will let the disgruntled fans/media speak their opinions.. His teammates love the guy and all I've seen was players speak highly of McClain every chance they get. Players/Coaches are the ones who works with this guy week in and week out, so their opinions are the ones that really matters.

At the end of the day, Coaches and players know what this guy can bring to the table to help this team out. Its funny how people forget that this guy help contribute to the team success last year and I wouldn't expect anything different going into this year.
