This may be moved, but I "Think" this is a good question.

We as Cowboy fans have probably all been called "Bandwagoners" at some point, even when our team has went 5-11, 6-10, 7-9 for years, I'm sure even when we went 1-15, but I was curious.

Is a record kept to show how many users registered on this board during our 5-11 seasons with campo, and last two years with BP(besides his first year) vs. this year and all the success and hype we're geting?

Not calling any new members out, just wondering what the difference in number is.

Has there been a huge difference due to "bangwagoners"?

Too many factors to consider. Some may not had a computer, some may not have had time, some too young. And does it really matter. If someone post and is not a troll, then welcome, rather they started liking Dallas now or back in 1960 or anytime in between.

I gaurantee that there are many young kids out there right now becoming Cowboy fans because they are seeing Tony Romo playing very well and see us winnig on National TV.

So the more the fans who want to jump on, welcome. Our Wagon is loaded, and we can carry more weight.

Well that is a poor way to gauge it. I signed up here in Jan or feb cant remember, but that is only because in 02 and 03 I was on the star telegram board and since jan of 04 I was on cowboys-forum. I dont go to either of them anymore, just here and one more.

i moved from ny to Dallas, left all my family behind just so that I could live in this market 4 years ago and be involved in everything cowboys and be a season ticket holder. How would you gauge my dedication based on my sign up date?

Bandwagon fans are easy to spot anyway, they do nothing but complain about coaches, quarterbacks and constantly compare our players to the best players and complain that we dont have the best at every position.

That and all the apparell that seems to pop up on no nothing fans around the country when we win and then the same people who couldnt be bothered when we lose.

The only thing is that this website was used to be thecowboys.net and changed over a couple of years ago....so it would be hard to see from THIS website when someone REALLY registered.

I was on thecowboys.net when there were only about 30 members... :)

Working out good. I like it here, moving from upstate ny (only hours from montreal) it is culture shock. Its freezing up there and hot as can be here.

I like the cold and the heat so I am ok.

The holidays are tough, I go home twice a year and my parents come to visit us twice a year, so it isnt so bad.

Every home game though I walk in and I just realize how much I love it. I cant get enough. The feeling in the stadium every week is just amazing.

I have been here for every parcells game. I have seen some crazy stuff, good times and bad.

Having to sit to the end of the eagles blowing us out in 04, or the dolphins blowin us out in 03 or the Commanders come back in 05 have been tough and trying...tough to sleep after that Commanders finish. Having said that I have also been here for the carolina win in 03, the kc comeback and win in 05, the eagles blow out in 05, and the colts game this year that was great.

I still am amazed I am in the stadium every week instead of at home with my sunday ticket package!!!

i just finished a psychology class and i remember my professor saying something about people who jump on sports bandwagon's...people who are stressing in life and also depressed about certain things in life. jumping on bandwagons makes the person feel good. cheering for a succesful team is one way to feel better about themselves. im not saying people here are depressed but its a theory that could be true...

What a jerk you are. Did you miss the part where I said I'm not calling out new members?

I know a lot of factors contribute to new members joining. At the same time you became offended by the question, so maybe you are a new fan....hmm.

This is like saying, "I'm not trying to offend you, but you are ugly."

Just because you say you're not trying to call newer members out, doesn't mean you aren't when you indicate that joining the forum later means you're a bandwagon fan. It's a ridiculous notion.

Basically every post in this thread has been that your notion is ridiculous. Sorry if you think I'm a jerk for saying what everyone else is saying.

How long you have been regsitered on the site is not a realistic sign of how big a fan you are.

A lot of people did not know about the site before they registered. A lot of people registered long ago only to be able to read threads but it doesn't mean they fully supported the team. A lot of fans from other teams have registered who may be bandwagon fans who jumped on the Cowboys bandwagon because they're winning now even though they registered two years ago as a fan of another team.

You can't use post counts either because some people are here all day every day but only post when they really have something to say.

Honestly, I recognize bandwagon fans by people who give up on the season when things go bad or say, they aren't going to watch the games or visit CZ just because some player is signed they hate or some player is starting they hate or their favorite player is released, etc.

I left Detroit in 2004 myself and moved here with my wife and kids, but did have my sisters cousins etc. in Detroit.

Anyway, I don't or didn't buy the season tickets for the that reason, i.e. haveing Sunday Ticket Package. Second, to me, I miss out on too many things if I go to the game, so I only try to keep it to 2 games a year, which me and my buddy enjoy doing that.

Anyway, that is one expensive way to do it though, having both NFL Sunday Ticket and Season Tickets. I just feel like with HD package, I just like it at home, but I do enjoy my two games a year thing. Colts game was awesome and I expect this Saints game to be the same, seems like I picked the right two games to go to.

What a fricking dumb assumption.

Think about it.

What happens when a team starts winning? You see bumper stickers all over the place, flags, stickers, hats, and jerseys. Where were they before? Coincedence? Granted, a high percentage of the people who are sporting those new items were fans before hand, but a few here and there are new bandwagoners.

I was asking for a stat. Has nothing to do with you or anyone in particular. Just curious if there is a high influx of new members now vs. when we were losing.

Has there been a huge difference due to "bangwagoners"?

Those who call out bandwagoneers are the ones who want to be on the ground floor of everything. Often, they cling to a cause or trend or movement because . . . well, they lack a life.

Let me tell you a story, my friend. Last season, during the preseason, I was fortunate enough to see Romo actually play. During one game I saw a quick and agile QB with a great release. Athletic. He was moving, man. Unfortunately, Bledsoe was the starter and Romo was 3rd in the depth chart.
(I think at the time it was Bledsoe/Henson/Romo.)

I posted at another forum that Romo was intriguing. And that, because Bledsoe was on the descent and Romo's play was intriguging, I'd rather cast my lot with a young, mobile unknown than go with a has-been like Bledsoe.

Well, a smirking know-it-all (aren't we all?) posted that only an idiot would call for that Romo guy based on a portion of a preseason game. Maybe he was right. I was just expressing MHO. I think that guy is now the head Romo lover. And quite the bandwagon guy.

I stop listening when someone mentions the bandwagon. Seems spiteful and childish.

Fans go to games, see games on TV, buy merchandise based on individual time, resources etc. Not to get on a bandwagon.

If you hear of someone mentioning bandwagon, chances are he or she is a champion bandwagoneer.

yeah I never took it as you judging. It is just tough to get a barometer on people from the sign up date. you can however judge them on what they say and how they act after wins and particularly losses.

I didnt even know about message boards until I moved here, which is strange since was always doing something on the internet. I found one accidentally on the fort worth star telegram board and ever since then I have been posting whenever I have time!!!!
