Current Cowboys cap space 2025

How does Martin's retirement affect the cap for 2025? I don't recall if he had guaranteed money for this year or not.

We could have done some things last year to create CAP space too. Jerry waiting almost until the beginning of the season to do some of them.

Yes, we can save $37 million restructuring Dak. But should they? That restructure would at over $7 million to the CAP each year for the next 5 years if they want to cut Dak after the 2026 season. I would want to leave that door open. The other restructures are okay.

The big question is, even if you clear this CAP space what will Jerry do with it? My guess is he doesn't need this much CAP space because he will sign a couple of low cost free agents but no one significant.
They have to find a way to get off this guys deal . What was his last big moment? He’s getting less confident , leas healthy , older and more expensive

Regardless of what side you are on with dak (letting him go or a fan) they literally just hired a coach no one else wanted or cared to interview who may not have gotten a serious job anywhere else to be our head coach because he’s close with dak…..

He’s not going anywhere - certainly not a June 1st cut next year (baring catastrophic injury) the Jones’s love him

So, even with Dak's contract, we are under the cap. If we can get Parsons' contract done, Lamb restructured, Diggs restricted, and Steele restructured to add to our $2.47 mil, that should be about $55.97 mil in cap space. We can do a lot with that and not even restructure Dak.

Restructuring both Steele and Diggs would seem nonsensical as both are going to be likely cut candidates for next season!
Only one j1st cut will be available so one’s entire dead cap will be accelerated into next seasons cap!
