If you haven’t noticed Cowboy fans this era it hasn’t mattered much who are HC has been when it ultimately comes to the results in January.

All of these HC’s have been undermined , manipulated and basically puppets under Jethro in a toxic atmosphere not conducive for success.

None of the HC’s in demand or up and coming are interested in coming to Dallas because they know the circumstances and being unable to have more control.

I’m not 100% convinced Belichick will be coaching next year. He’s as old as dirt and if some team wants to hire him because of what he did with Tom Brady as his QB, good luck. Teams need to look at his record as a head coach without Brady.

To be fair he was turning the Browns around before announcing moving to Baltimore.

It’s really just a talking point that Bill was a lousy coach without Brady.

I guess Landry was a lousy coach without Roger. And Lombardi without Starr. The list goes on.

Part of great coaching is drafting and assembling then developing the talent . And when you don’t have the talent you’re not going to have as much success.

Did Jimmy suk in 1989. He just didn’t have as much talent . NFL is a talent driven league . And HC job is to build , develop and make the most of their talent.

Belittling Bill is a weak talking point . He’s going to be inducted into HOF and be considered one of the greatest HC in NFL.

Why doesn’t matter. It’s a bottomline business. And he made the most of his opportunity and the talent he had.

https://www.sportsbookreview.com/picks/nfl/bill-belichick-next-team-odds/#:~:text=The latest Bill Belichick next team odds have, former New England Patriots head coach in 2025.

Betting sites have updated the Bill Belechick coaching odds.

Cowboys+10050.00%
Jets+50016.67%
Eagles+60014.29%
Bears+80011.11%
Giants+10009.09%
Raiders+10009.09%
Saints+12007.69%
Buccaneers+12007.69%
Bills+12007.69%
Vikings+14006.67%
Browns+16005.88%
I think this betting line is blowing smoke up a lot of behinds because Billy isn’t coming through the door anytime soon, not with the Jones clan calling the shots. Billy isn’t taking any HC job if he doesn’t have control over a lot more than what JJ and his sons control.

The Hoody may find this year off generates just enough exposure to NFL to keep him content with a much-welcomed renewal of a personal life away from coaching.
Maybe.

I think the guy wants one final chapter...and one more sip of juice.

Anouther washed up coach great. Give me someone innovative like Ben Johnson and I'll be excited.
Yes exciting Ben Johnson with zero games as NFL Head coach… or the greatest football coach to ever live…..

Tough call there

As long as he brings in a great offensive mind as OC. Most here don't realize how close Jerry and BB are.
I believe he will be the next coach, that's why he took the year off and Big Mac doesn't have a contract, among other things like lack of FA moves.

Jerry will be "going all in" with Bellichick and FA in 2025-26. We could open up close to 75M for next season and get Micah done NP
Have to replace 30 players. 60-75M isn’t going as far as you think it is

I'll take the bait and get sucked into this conversation...

Seems like Bill would be the best gettable coach assuming he isnt asking too much money wise...

Who are Bill's Co-Ordinator's that would be gettable? And other coaching staff?

My opinion is that Bill might be the best coach available to turn around a team with a decent QB and decent talent.

(PLEASE...NO NEED TO DERAIL THE CONVERSATION INTO WHETHER THIS TEAM HAS TALENT. I KNOW YOU WANT TO SOOOOOO BAD)

My opinion is that Dallas, with Will McClay, has enough talent for Bill to be successful.

To put it another way....I think Bill would be the best coach, assuming he can assemble the staff he needs, to tune-up a Ferrari.

I think those young, innovative head coaches with fire are better suited for teams starting from scratch.

I guess another way to put it is...I think Dallas wins in Playoffs against San Fran with Bill as coach.

I want to look at him for his 20+ years of world class defenses and special teams. I want to look at his teams toughness both mentally and physically. I want to look at his team intelligence and discipline, always one of the least penalized teams. I want to look at the game plans his teams come up with to deal with dangerous opponents. His resume is way, way, way more than riding Tom Brady. In fact, I think there's a handful of QBs that win those SBs with that roster and structure.

Is our front office desperate enough to hire Belichick to be HC of the Cowboys? To do so might require them to concede some of their say-so. They gave concessions to Bill Parcels in the past, although, it's questionable if they'd agree to it once again at this juncture. I have my doubts that it'll be allowed to happen at some point. The answers lie ahead in the future, assuming both parties agree to the necessary terms. Who knows? ;)

About 2 drafts and 2 FAs. Not really that long.
If BB wants to switch to a 3-4 defense it's minimum 2 years. Dak will be in the last 1-2 years of his contract by the time the defense starts taking shape. And then there's the Jerry wants credit if Bill comes here and has any success Jerry won't get much credit.

His success as a head coach came with Tom Brady. He made the playoffs only twice without Brady, dating back to his years at Cleveland and he had a losing record without him. He couldn’t even win with Drew Bledsoe who Bill Parcells reached the Super Bowl with.

Parcels wanted to be GM and Head Coach.

Belicheck was GM and Coach. He claims he is willing to forgo some power now. I assume that means he is willing to concede GM'ing and focus on coaching. His name was tarnished after Brady left...murmurings that he cant win without a QB and that he made bad draft picks.

I think Bill just wants to coach and get his 14 wins. I dont think he cares about complete control anymore...and he has said as such. The only thing I think Bill wants to control is that he goes to a team with a serviceable QB and talent. Bill is too old to spin his wheels turning around a rebuild....it could take him 3 or 4 years to get those 14 wins...and I think he is definitely looking to avoid that situation.
