Currently we're at a franchise record 19 games without a 100 yard rusher

It don’t mean nothing now but… when it gets cold and it’s playoff time and teams are running the ball down Dallas throats. And we sit back and throw interceptions. Then it means something

Give Luepke 5 carries and he'll have 200 yards.
There’s some fans that actually believe if we feed him all day, he could have 100 yards rushing every week. Lol I’ve seen at least a couple of posts where fans want him to be our featured back.

Cowboys have never had a running back, ever catch more than two touchdowns in a game

One reason is we’re using a committee of backs, rather than one back and obviously we don’t have a great runner. None of our backs break off long runs. Pollard was our last 100 yard rusher. I believe it was around week three of the 2023 season. He was given 23 carries and came up with 122 yards.
There was a noticeable break from the "committee" approach against the Steelers, with Dowdle getting a relatively-full load of 20 carries (for 87 yds.). The other two RBs seeing action accounted for 9 yds. on 8 carries.

Zeke is no longer a viable run option. I believe that Hunter L. is being under-utilized, and would like to see him more involved in the offense. And I'm sure he can block at least as well as Zeke?

Unfortunately (or not), this team is currently built to pass to open up the run game, not the other way around.

There was a break from the committee because Dowdle was running well and we stayed with him. He hits the hole a lot quicker than Zeke. The problem is if we continue to ride Dowdle hard he’s going to wear down. He still needs to be spelled every once in a while. If it was up to a lot of fans on this board, he would never be taken out of the game. They want him to get all the carries. That wouldn’t be a smart approach. He needs to be kept fresh.

I doubt many believe that. However, any back could gain 100 yards if you give them enough carries and the blocking is good.

..another stupid stat. Who cares?

Just win the damn game. Sometimes you'll get it, other times you dont.

How many ways can you make PB&J sandwich? Not just one.

With a name like “ Smuckers “ it has to be good…..

100-yard rusher isn't important if your RBBC can gain 125+ yards a game. We will see that with Detroit (Montgomery and Gibbs). We'll probably see it with Philly (Barkley and Hurts). There's probably another team or two I can put on that list.

If Rico and Leupke rush for 90 and 60 respectively, would that be considered a bad game ? Clearly neither guy got 100. I think YPC and team total is more important than a single guy going for 100.

I wonder what the record is for the last 19 games. How important is the run game really. Just enough to keep the defense honest , run the clock down in the fourth quarter. Back in the 70s the NFC would mostly be running , while the AFC would mostly be passing. Had so many great runners throughout the years Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, O.J. Simpson, Emmett Smith. Can’t forget Dorset. Riggins.
By that indication, our it's been enough to get us to the dance, but not enough to get the prom queen.
