Cut down day was a push back on our talent evaluator extraordinaire

Anyone have a breakdown on all the drafts that McClay has done to see where he really is? I think he's good but he's had some stinkers. (2023 draft comes to mind). Just wondering how the overall picture looks compared to other Player/Personnel guys. I am sure he's top 10? Ai should be able to handle this question. LOL
Anyone know how many picks McClay makes on draft day and/or how often the Cowboys draft according to their board?

You mean like 17 of 26 players who were on defense last year or actually out of the NFL this morning?
Not that they have been cut but they are actually no longer NFL football players.

Is that perfectly normal?

Is this not a reflection upon Will McClay the highest paid non-GM in football?

I mean, let’s just say that even if 9 of those guys are his- wouldn’t you call that patently absurd?

I bring receipts, my friend.
All the players here were acquired while McClay was here and it’s obvious the roster construction on defense last year was quite flawed.

Yet the Cowboys are considered going into this year to be amongst the contenders in conference. How is one a reflection on McClay and the other not?

And Bingo was his name-o.

Yes there are several here that do that.
Dude, I have forgotten more about the Cowboys than you’ll ever know.
I have been to more cowboy games than most of the people combined on this board.
I have been to a Super Bowl.
I’ve seen them play on the road in California Seattle, New York, Miami, Philly Chicago, others numerous times.
I was at the Phil Pozderac game - I was at the Joe Danelo game ( go google those so you can catch up)
I was in Miami the day after the Yankees won the World Series to watch Deion live.
I have read your post before you are what we call a pleb.
I’m here every Sunday talking Cowboys football respectfully to everyone.

The fact of the matter the last 30 years Cowboys football is beneath me- that’s not what I grew up on. We’ve become a clown show we’ve become a meme. We’ve become a nationwide slapstick joke. If you can’t see that if you can’t understand that, that’s very sad because you have an experienced our domination.

Not only you that sucks for a lot of people.

I oposted something on here before like that but the mcclay detractors out on blinders. He was near the top 10 regarding draft success
How many playoff wins? That's really the only true draft measure. Will has had some legendary stinkers. Michigan alone has caused a steamy pile.

draft success plays a part but not the reason for playoff success

There’s no doubt that our new defensive coordinator looked at all of these stiffs that the great Will McClay has collected - over the years or had “unearthed-“ I’m laughing as I typed that.
And he said it’s time to start dumping these clowns.

The bravado of our new defensive coordinator to buck the system - to tell the cowboy brass - that you don’t know a hole from your *** - without a doubt rubbed off on our goofball tennis visor wearing head coach.

Schottenheimer spun around and sliced every wart out that McClay brought in and reset the franchise.

Hallelujah

Even at the sake of depth - Schottenheimer and Parker said ENOUGH of this Tom foolery.
Enough of the laziness - enough of the injured draft day sliders - enough of the 7th round miracle pics that the entire league passed on but somehow Will knew better - GONE.

Smell the air a new day upon us - it took Christian Parker to come in and say what the hell is going on here why are you all to Larry Lacewell again?

Hallelujah
Do you even know what you're babbling about?

Most have that issue. Salary cap makes it hard
Correct. Which makes it all that more ultraimportant to focus on what matters. Which is DLine disruption. We don't understand the DLine, we think it's just edge rushers and huge slugs. That's why we keep losing in the playoffs.

Since things have changed so drastically, it's easy to conclude that this is more a reflection of Schotty/Parker.

I thought it was all Daks fault

Will McClay didn’t just start being horrible at his job. It’s been going on for many years. He needs to go! Jerry being comfortable enough to keep him around as long as he has should tell you all you need to know. Cut the fat! Get rid of this clown.
