Yeah exactly. It’s do or die. Let’s say we’re down by 7 and Turpin takes one to the house to tie the game in the 4th.

Hold on. Flag on the play. Illegal block in the back number 1 receiving team.

How you feeling about not cutting him in that situation? Lol. It’s not about trying something new. It’s about stopping a potential big mistake.
Great point!
He literally is a penalty waiting to happen!

You just said he had the final say, lol- so it WAS a dumb decision by Jerry. You are arguing against yourself, lol. Jerry just loves and can't resist guys with talent, with two cent brains and with red flags about their questionable character - Gregory, Collins, now Joseph.
Signing off on drafting Joseph also required scouting research input and player performance output assessment from coaching staff including the defensive coordinator, assistant coaches, and the head coach. Jerry certainly is not SOLELY making the drafting decision and Stephen also has a major say-so in college player drafting, trades and free agent acquisitions - including contract generation. Signing a player is predominantly a formality based on committee consensus. Otherwise Jerry would be considered a one-horse meddler, and few in executive management or key coaching positions would be eager to join the Cowboys organization. Your simple, narrow minded train of thought solely blaming Jerry for the Joseph signing conveniently excludes selection and supportive input from the associated staff.

While we are at it then why are you going to ignore all the brilliant drafting and acquisition player decisions/signings that Jerry "solely" has made over the years. I don't believe in giving Jerry sole credit for each positive personnel and acquisition decision he signed off on, either.
