Cut McFadden

McFadden is a pretty lucky guy.

Him dropping his phone basically kept him on the team last season and Zeke getting suspended secured him a spot this year.

Probably not the best time to move on though.

Morris was fine yesterday. The OL stunk and sacks killed drives.

If we were able to give Morris 20 carries, I think he breaks 100 yards.
He was good on that one drive in the 3rd quarter. The rest of the game he was mostly invisible. He did hardly anything in the first half which was when the running game should have been established.

Bottom line is Mcfaddens days as playmaker have long since passed. He's taking up a roster spot that could be used elsewhere. Lets get real folks. He has had 1 carry this year and how did that work out? Last year he had 24 carries for 87 yards. :(. The only reason he had a thousand yards the year before is because we had a good line and a horrible horrible set of qbs and we were forced to run him. Anyway what value does he provide at this point in his career? Nada, zippo.

Makes absolutely no difference here or there. Tyron/Lee missing games is what has now ended this season, not Zeke.

Losing Zeke cost us the season. He's the best player on the team. Losing Tyron and Lee just adds to the misery.

When you lose a special player like Zeke who basically makes the offense go you're going to lose football games you otherwise would've won.

The effect of losing Zeke would have been felt, no question. He is the best player on the team.

However, I would argue he is NOT the player we can least afford to lose mainly due to serviceable albeit unimpressive backups. Tyron and Lee's backups are beyond cringeworthy - they are so horrific that the entire offense and defense cannot even function enough to win more than a game or two if the team were to play an entire season without them. Mind boggling ineptitude.

Many times the running game is quiet in the first half and picks up in the second half. A running back like Morris will need carries to get his rhythm..much like Zeke.

The sadks killed drives though, I knew things would eventually open up but the offense couldn’t sustain anything...that’s not on Morris.

I honestly wouldn't have a problem with it and I actually like McFadden. I'm not saying he's great but I think he could be effective in spots but they obviously don't want him to play so he is a wasted roster spot right now.

I have no idea what kind of shape McFadden is in but i imagine it is not game shape. So if he's not in game shape whats he going to do to help this team at this point, takes a few games minimum to get up to par, by the time he'd be ready Zeke will be back. Now if McFadden is a workout freak with great endurance then yea he could help but if he was that ready now they would have played him more yesterday.

Funny, I remember in the first half of the season a game where Zeke did absolutely nothing for the better part of 3 quarters, then exploded in the final. I didn't hear that the run game should be established in the first half then, what I heard was "you keep pounding to wear down the defense then take advantage near the end."

Morris did fine, his yards per carry was near Zeke's. Same with Smith. The running game wasn't the problem yesterday

Morris had 3 or 4 good runs the whole game all in the 3rd quarter. The running game did nothing other than that the whole game. But I'm sure we'll have more excuses the next few weeks if this continues.

If you can find a player at this point that can better help this team? Sure.

But there are a few other players hanging around this roster who aren't doing anything either.

And I don't think there are too many quality players waiting to be signed.

how many running plays to a RB in the first half?

Because he wasn't fed much of the ball after half time. Morris had 11 runs all game, and you're saying 3 or 4 were good? That's a pretty awesome return rate, you know. Zeke has 25 or 26 runs a game and 6 or 7 of them are good, so what are you complaining about exactly?
