Brad Johnson had a bad game but it was his first start and character game in a long time. He was asked to play outside his envelope. I don't have a huge hard time with that but they had better look at that hard this week and not ask him to do it again. And he's not going to mount a huge comeback. So they better cut the mistakes and turnovers, protect him and mount a run game. Oh, they need to do that anyway. The problem with Johnson is he cannot play the vertical game Tony can so he's limited.

Just clarify I was not saying all of them at once you need a list of people I gave options

Alot of those guys have very little impact on the salary cap and play at this point and quite a few of the are ufa or rfa next year

Brad Johnson was washed up 3 to 4 years ago. JJ should be embarassed screaming at his team today having GM'd Brad Johnson as his backup.

How about Stanback? STILL waiting for him to break out...

Roy #11,

#1 #3 #6 DRAFT PICKS gone
$9M a year

Crayton, Austin, Stanback all merit or no merit are set back now. Time for Roy #11 to produce.

Calvin Johnson stepped up today in his absence in Detroit.

Why don't we all grow brains and grasp a concept. Keep who we have, "all this talent" and coach them up? Gee................

All what talent? face the fact that a lot of these so-called great talent we have is way overrated. losing has become a habit.

He has no intention to "produce". He'll take the backseat to #81 until "someone" says otherwise.

I completely agree about Johnson being washed up. He shouldn't even be playing in the NFL IMO. JJ should also be embarrassed as a GM for having Johnson as his backup QB.

The part where I'm a little different is this: JJ should have screamed at this team. There are a lot of guys on this team that have huge contracts (with lots and lots of guaranteed money). Too many are complacent and underperforming their contracts (and their talent). As the guy who's paying them, he needs to let them know he ain't happy. And he needs to let Wade Phillips and the coaching staff know it too. I can't think of any of the coaches that have done an overly good job.

Cut Brad Johnson... Bring in Daunte Culpepper to back up Romo. I'm sure is sounds radical and crazy but no one can convince me that Brad can do anything to navigate this ship if Romo misses any significant amount of time. Brad's throws were way off target and he definitely had an eye for throwing to coverage yesterday. Most teams have, at the very least, a competent backup QB... We have a guy that is way past the end of his shelf life.

Sure, it's just one game but I saw enough over the course of that one game to know that if Romo is out for any significant period of time it's time to start digging into basketball season because the football season will be over.

No Negative Nancy here... Just Reality Raoul...

If Brad is protected he'll have more time to throw. More time to throw INTs.

He had, um, three picks yesterdday? He could have easily had 6 had the ball bounched a bit differently.

This dog won't hunt. He's a sitting duck. Arm is negligible.
He has the heart of a lion but the mobility of Wade Phillips after a two-steak dinner.

all of the below works for me except Canty and Hatcher. first is wade & barbie.

Wade Phillips

Tony Curtis

Bobby Carpenter

Greg Ellis

[strike]Chirs Catny [/strike]

[strike]Jason Hatcher[/strike]

Tank Johnson

Any of them do not hurt us we can just plug in some scrub and get the same production

That's ridiculous. The only one there I wouldn't want on the team next year for sure is Bobby Carpenter. And right now he has to backup our starting nickel/dime MLB, Burnett.

I agree Carpenter I think will be gone next year but releasing the other players on that list is just foolish. Thankfully I don't think the team is that foolish to do this.

I'm not a negative person by nature, but with the product that was out there yesterday, i totally agree.......please Jerry, get Brad Johnson outta here!!

Curtis and Tank would be on the list for me. Those are good canidates for being cut cause they wouldn't hurt the cap and it would send the message you need to send.

Get over this infatuation of cutting some backup will light a fire. It just doesn't work in the NFL now. Too many contracts with big bonuses. When you sign these players to big contracts, you take a risk of the player going through the motions.
