I think Jerry needs to limit the amount of media that has access to this team. Limit it to the local guys. It is becoming a joke some of the crap that is being reported.

Bad idea Murph...

I realize that some of the silly stuff is just beyond ridiculous but censorship is not the answer

the same idea occured to me.
close practices and have parcells crawl back into shell.
parcells would have no problems explaining the media is just too stupid to report on his team so he'll not give tham anything else until after the week 1 game.

Very bad idea. You think the media is run a muck now? Just what you you think they would do if they cut the media totally off?

If the media keeps it up, at some point I hope Parcells will start a "circle the wagons" campaign and it will actually help the team grow closer.

Of course, that is assuming there is no real rift between the players or coaches.

either way, what will be, will be.

Dallas will continue to be in the national spot light and it would be more of a mistake for this franchise to close the media off than to just deal with it for good and bad. We did not become America’s team because this franchise shied about from the spot light.

That's true.

Do that, and the thing would blow up into an even bigger story.

Besides, this is all just part of the Dallas Cowboys.

This isn't John Thompson's Georgetown basketball team and their "Hoya Paranoia."

This should be about football.

Purely about football and I'd gladly see the media (and yes I understand, the fans) shut out to get the focus back on football.

Media nonsense is not always conducive to the best possible football results. Jimmy and Jerry's nonsense was inflated by the media. Both guys had their little reporters running stuff and the other guy would get huffy over it. There are alot of media members in this town who ran negative stuff about Jerry for years simply because they were Jimmy guys and their side in that battle lost. Ya know guys like Dale Hanson.

Since the media can report whatever it wants the only way to make a real statement is to buy everything up a la the Skins or simply shut down access. I'd rather not have the Boys own the media but a strong message sent that irresponsible media will not be tolerated would be welcomed here.

What more can they do?
They are already poking both TO and Parcells and trying to instigate one of the more preponderous QB controveries in history.

Now that camp is over, practices will be closed, thats why the media hates him so much. Makes me glad camp is over, it will make things hard for the media's TO watch.

It really wouldn't be "censorship." the media would still be fabricating stories. the difference would be the fans/their audience, would be able to see more clearly if the media was lying rather than them veiling their sources under the clouded "a Cowboys player said."

I don't know if it's the answer, but if BP wants to get more control over what seemed to be a situation that was spiraling out of control, closed practices or a media boycott may be the best way to do that.

You'd think a tough sport like football would have some tough fans, but I sure see a lot of crying over the big, bad media being so mean to our innocent little team.

cut the media off, and they (the media) would think that they're right

don't give them that, just continue to be silent and very vague with them

:laugh2:

I'm sure Parcells isn't losing any sleep over the media. He's had bigger battles in the Big Apple. He hasn't even called the Dallas media "commies" like he did in New York.

Thank goodness he has thicker skin than the fans.

True and don't forget BP was part of the media at one time giving his opinion. For ESPN no less.

Didn't you know the media is the DEVIL.

But that Devil was much funnier and true when they were talking about T.O./Philly problems!!
