Today my son took it upon himself to go out side and build a table. He asked me if he could use the tools and I told him to be very careful and use them like him taught him to him to. So anyways. He put a drill bit through his nail. i didn't teach that lol. Half nail gone and couple stitches. So he screamed and cried like any 6 year old would. Before he left he asked for his Romo Jersey from yesterday. I said sure why. Honestly he said this is in own words, (I couldn't make it up, not that good). He said "cmon dad, Romo got smashed by those tow guys. His ribs mus be crushed. He didn't quit and stop playing. So I'm not going to cry anymore and scream at the doctors office".....MY wife and I laughed and though it was beyond cute and funny...Though some of you might like it...

I couldn't get the link to work either, but it is a great story. And there are those who will tell you kids don't look up to these players. Your son has good parents as well as Cowboy role models, I'm sure...

Oh, I know. That's really late! My daughter Landry was using a cordless drill by age 3, but I don't want to pass judgment on the OP. It's funny how things change over the years. Back in the day, things were different for sure. I was drinking beer by age 6 and driving a truck as soon as I could see over the dash. ;)
 
I know when my kid cut off a finger with my skil saw, we were all like 'be Ronnie Lott! Be Ronnie Lott!" Anyway, I got a good laugh out of it.

He was all 'Dad, it hurts so bad, I need a doctor.' I don't think he was old enough to get the Ronnie Lott reference, unfortunately.

It was a 12V cordless Dewalt. Haha, didn't think he would hurt anything at all. He was 4 feet away from me. And yes, he has a Youth Model 870 and a lever action 30-30. LOL...But c'mon..You have to admit this was a great story about a 6 year old admiring what Romo did. At least that's what I got our of it. LOL.....I got the big talk from my wife and mom already about the drill, don't worry. :)

I got the same thing out of the story that you did..

Raising him right, working with tools, going to become a man. Good job.
 
The young man shows perspective. We adults should also have perspective like him and not be crybabies.
Like when I lost a $20 bill it occurred to me that millionaires lose millions in the stock market and then I stop crying.
And a handsome young man he is. Best wishes.
 
Nice story. My little girl will be able to change a tire, starter and an alternator by the age of 12(I hope) :)
