I watched the Bears/Vikings game and here are some things I noticed about McCown and the Bears offense:

-He loves the slant and will go there based off pre snap read. He should have thrown two picks looking for the slant but one was dropped and the other called back because of a penalty. Sean Lee will have a pick in this game.

-He moves the ball well until he gets to the red zone. He looks like bad Eli down there.

- Also like Eli, when there is a blitz, he will just chuck it up to one of his WR's. It worked out fine in the Vikings game but we'll see.

- Forte likes off tackle and zone/stretch runs. He is average between the tackles and looks to bounce just about everything. He is also a dangerous receiver out of the backfield and can make people miss in the open field. He is like Murray but with much quicker feet.

-The Bears offensive line is weak to say the least. Their run blocking lacks any real movement and the tackles are very inconsistent in pass pro. Our defensive line needs to win this battle.

How to stop the Bears offense:

The Cowboys must control the line of scrimmage against this weak Bears front. A few disguised zone blitzs should provide plenty of turn over opportunities. If the Cowboys can get some consistent pressure on McCown and limit the big play then the Cowboys defense should limit the Bears point total. Look for a lot of 2 deep coverage with a mix of man/zone underneath. If Forte starts to run wild then the Cowboys could be in for a long day.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the Bears RT has given up the most QB pressures in the league this year....yummy, let's keep that trend going!

Seriously. Cutler's game is more suited to take advantage of this D's weakness than McCown. McCount your blessings, people.

Agreed. Having Lee back helps a lot as well. McCown stares receivers down too long where Cutler can manipulate a defense better. I see some picks happening.

Limping into the playoffs by beating teams like Chicago and Green Bay with their backup QB's just doesn't give me warm fuzzies thinking of our possible matchups in January.

Yes because it's a requirement that you must play every team at full strength to qualify or do anything in the playoffs.

Some have suggested that Twitter has "ruined reporting," with which I vehemently disagreed. Twitter is the future of reporting and this was just one example. Much quicker, more accurate.

As if they didn't have enough problems stopping the run even with him healthy.

Yeah, my co-worker is a big Bears fan and he rued the day that Briggs went out. Not nearly as concerned about losing Cutler for a while but he basically said that without Briggs, their defense just can't hold up. To which I say...good.
