Cutler and Briggs ruled OUT for Monday

Ask Brandon Marshall who he'd rather catch passes from. His answer is why I'm glad we're facing McCown.

Of course, that's assuming Alshon Jeffrey doesn't decide to go all Megatron on us like he did last week.

Not sure it matters with our defense, but hopefully it helps some.

Marshall has a quad injury and has been limited in practice this week. He'll probably still play but that's something to consider as well.

Okay. And then what? The point is to win games.

Let cutler walk and they let there chances of winning anything walk too.

Draft a qb or keep cutler for a decent contract. Hes not worth keeping for a big contract.

Yea..........I am still not sold that this defense is not crap. They got their arse handed to them in the Superdome and the two "bounce back" games were against the scrub Giants and Raiders.

The Bears offense is elite, I think they are top 5 in scoring in the league. I fully anticipate the defense going back to sucking this week.

There isn't a parallel universe in which I'd rather play Cutler...unless it's a universe where Cutler and McCown are the same people except their names are switched.

McCown has done well so far but the five teams he's started against have a combined win percentage of .379 and an average defensive ranking of 25th in terms of opponents' QB rating. And the Bears lost three of those five games.

Granted, we haven't been a very good defense either, but the fact remains he's only been slightly above average compared to what everyone else in the league has done against his opponents, and part of that was just trying to keep pace with the 40+ points that Washington and St. Louis laid on his team.

A team also has to look out for their own future. A franchise tag would cost in excess of $16 million for one year. I could see them letting him go too.

I'm hopeful they can keep getting better. I just watched the first half of the Saints Seahawks game and Russell Wilson shredded Rob's defense. When we played the Saints I think Hatcher was out, Ware re-injured is quad, Lee went, and it was Heath's first or second start.

I'm not buying all this I'd rather play Cutler stuff. McCown is a backup for a reason. He's played well at times but he's still a backup. The Bears are averaging 6 more points with Cutler than McCown. Cutler has given us problem in the past with his arm. McCown is not nearly the threat. I don't care how well he's played so far.

Spot on.

I don't mind a 300 yard 3 TD game from McCown, nor would I care Alshon Jeffrey going Megatron on MNF as long as the Cowboys win the game. Stats, yards and highlights are all meaningless at this point of the season to me. The Eagles tied with us at first place aren't. Just win!

McCown is a better QB than Ponder and McGloin and look at what those 2 did against this historically bad defense

I would rather they played. If we get in the playoffs, I want us battle tested.
