Cutting Davis - blessing or curse?

You lost me at onset of your argument.

You literally undermined your entire argument from the word go by essentially saying "I don't think he can play, and certainly not on this team."

You apparently were lost before you read the first word because there was no argument to undermine. The title of the thread alone should have told you that I was opening up a topic of discussion and not making an argument for a single viewepoint. Further, if you read beyond the first line of my post it was very clear that I was discussing more than one angle of letting Davis go. Even beyond that, if you read my follow up posts you should have been able to follow me even more.

I tried to recap it for you, but I will try again. I'm merely saying that while I don't think he is the player we need, it's possible to find ourselves in even worse shape if we don't have a plan to replace him. It's really not as complicated as you are trying to make it.

As I've said, I think it's a blessing that he's gone, as much for the message it sends about money and effort as the actaul dollars it saves.

I'll remain positive that whoever plays there will be better.

And that hasn't been decided yet.

I think it was a blessing. The guy was making way too much to be as inconsistent as he was. If he weren't being paid like a top tier OG he'd probably still be a Cowboy.

Besides, I think we need more agility along the OL.
