Cutting Dez is a Huge Mistake

Dak friendly is a misnomer. The moves were designed to be QB friendly in the sense that all the new WRs are said to be good technical route runners meaning they know how to be where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there. That would help any QB. None are prima donas that have to have the ball fed tomthem even when they can’t get open anymore. That would help any QB. The plan is simple. Give Dak time to throw with a fortified OL and allow him to throw to the open man. That plan would help any QB.

To bolster your point a little, the Garrett/Linehan (aka "Zampese") passing game is a timing-based offense that relies on a QB throwing to a consistent spot as determined by the receiver's route. The receiver runs "X" steps, makes his cut at a specific angle, while the QB releases the ball at a specific number of counts after the snap. If things go as drawn up, the ball and the receiver arrive at the same point simultaneously. One of the major criticisms of Dez was that he didn't run the same route the same way twice in a row. Getting consistent technical route runners in here helps at leadt one side of the equation. Now it will be up to Dak to put the ball in the right place.

True but explain the statistics that would indicate he's, at least, more accurate than some want to give him credit for being?
Completion percentage is not a tell all statistic.

In 2016 Dak was 22nd in intended air yards per target. He was 19th in 2017.

Dez got a disproportionate amount of Dak's long balls into coverage where he is not accurate. The rest of the team got his short passes or his longer balls into single coverage (which existed because of Dez).

Dak is not an accurate passer down the field. And even his short stuff often requires more work than it should. It's pretty simple.

If you watched Dak the last two years and then looked at his scouting report and your takeaway is you think Dak is an extremely accurate passer then LOL.

The guy can't even throw a fade.
Not accurate. he can throw a fade.

People laughed this offseason when I said Dez should be cut.

I got many responses guaranteeing that Dez would play for the Cowboys in 2018.

There were many more responses that Dez would be on a new team within 48 hours and many of those said he would get a pay increase.
I said Dez would be signed quickly..... BAL offered 3/21m

I said DAL should've extended him for 3/25m to bring down his cap number....that was his value

I did think an up and coming team with a ton of cap money would pay the 2/25m but we will never know..... he wasn't offered in trade or to take a pay cut....they wanted him gone...... Dezerters the FO be

But Dez turned them down out of spite..... but the offer was real

I would hope any team would build an offense that suits the strengths of their starting QB. Why should Dak experience anything less? We may find that he wasn’t worth it. But, that’s what you do once you commit to a starting QB. Not committing to a starting QB is something us old guys have lived through. I can’t bring myself to type all of Q____Y C____R bc some folks might not sleep.
