There's a new era of Dallas Cowboys football coming in 2020. For the past 10 seasons, it was all about the right kind of guys (RKGs) under former head coach Jason Garrett. If Garrett liked a player...

I bring back Lee for sure.

I bring in Dez if he's cheap. But it's hard to see Dez getting many reps.

With Witten, does he want to be a clear #2? I am ok with Jarwin (1), Witten (2), Schultz (3). But Witten has to be on limited snaps and letting Jarwin break free. MM likes to use two tight ends and likes to get them both involved.

Most coaches, regardless of sport, love to cut one of the big name players from the previous regime that nobody see's coming.

What does McCarthy have to do with personnel decisions?

He was hired to enhance the perception of legitimacy to the Cowboys coaching staff. Any special ability or skill he has in regards to maximizing talent will be swiftly neutralized by the slow corrosion of his authority....which is an illusion in the first place.

At some point he is going to come to the conclusion that he is nothing more than an employee that is expected to fall into step with Jerry Jones's agenda of demanding credit for any future success while being scapegoated for the more probable failure.

Don't be surprised ALL 3 are offer change to compete for a roster spot with no guarantee of making the final cut. Lee and Dez accepting but Jason rather move on.

Get a toupee, write the words "You're Fired!" inside the liner with a Sharpie, then stick it in Witten's locker.

If I'm McCarthy and actually have a say in personnel, I let them all go and start over with just his guys or guys his staff really wants.
Make a statement to the team that no player has his spot held in place by the FO.

Fake news since Bryant is included and isn’t even on the team. You don’t bring back players that burn the bridges on their way out of the door.

Since Lee took a pay cut to stay I doubt that he'll try to push for something more. I think, just my opinion, that Lee will be back. Witten may, but doubt it, will get a vet min. offer and told that his snaps will be reduced. There is less than a zero chance that Bryant will return to the Cowboys. He is now a has been one trick pony receiver that the Cowboys just don't need to go along with all commotion and media frenzy that would come with signing him. Before he was released he became a locker room problem and the McCarthy isn't going to put up with that or even take the chance it could happen again.

Jerry will be sentimental about that and fork over one his circa 1990's toupees.

Bring Lee back if he is kool with the money. He stayed healthy and played well. Worth it.

Witten either retires or plays very limited. No more of him taking himself in and out of the game. He can still run block and the Y option. But at this point Jarwin is better receiver option.

Give Dez a legit try out. He has been doing work and is humbled and wants to contribute. If he can do it and we aren’t cutting a WR we need then go for it.

MM has to control this and the players need to know he is in charge. JJ simply cannot undermine him here.
