Out of curiosity...and left field, could anyone tell me what criteria you guys use to choose mods? Honestly no motive, just curious.

Ability to communicate and convey a point of view without getting personal or attacking. It's a tough balance. We look for someone who is strong, stands by their convictions but also does so in a sensible, even handed manner.

Someone who always posts within our guidelines.

Activity...that is, we want someone who spends time here.

Someone who is already an informal leader.

Level headed.

Someone who clearly has the interests of the Zone in mind and brings a little something extra to the table.

Solid knowledge of the Cowboys.

A sense of humor...because it's NEEDED!

And then there's a bit of a subjective element to the selection process. There's a "feel" that ya get that someone will be good.

And...who ever offers the most money for the position.

I'm sure some of the other mods will add things I missed or overlooked.

Whoever offers the most money, we bypass.

The low bidders get stuck being uh, recruited.

For me it was everybody passed on the offer until they got to me and I accepted kind of like on that old show Night Court.

boozeman was drunk when he asked me. Dale was thinking of some girl and just said okay. Reality hadn't slept and turned on the tools without thinking.

I had just had a lobotomy when I accepted.

In other words, none of us had our heads on straight.
