how are we gonna shut them down?

i am in the boat that Newman has lost a step and we will need all the speed we can to contain Jackson. i say we put Jenkins on Jackson as he plays off and has make-up speed jic and have a safety(preferably sensy) over top with Newman on Maclin.

lots of nickle as we all know they pass 60 percent of the time. i also say we don't waste one minute of practice time on Vick, he just wont be on the Field long enough to do anything and hasn't done anything all year.

Jenkins can handle Maclin. Newman and a safety can handle Jackson.

this. were probably going to play DJ exacty how we did Steve Smith. having Rat and Ware dominate up front would really help to. the eagles like to go deep so there should be plenty of opportunities for sacks

I'd rather have Newman do it. He's more experienced and less-prone to mental mistakes IMO. And with Jackson a mental mistake can easily turn into a TD.

how are they at beating the press? Jenkins can be physical.

Hamlin scares me if I'm depending on him for deep help.

Can you think of more than one or two deep passes given up by Hamlin all season?

I don't think we can shut them down. These are two of the greatest receivers the league has ever seen. They have been so unstoppable. I mean like at the numbers Jackson and Maclin have put up. No one has been able to stop them yet. I don't think we have a chance at all.

Oh boy, I am so sick of hearing about these two.

According to ProFootballFocus, through the first six games he was responsible for five passes given up. That's out of 218 pass attempts.

I meant name the play, so someone could actually verify it.

By the way, if he gave up only one pass play per game, he'd be the best safety in the league by a large margin.

I'm not looking these up either.

Burleson= catching that seam route deep pass. No help over the top.

Steve Smith(sorry not Manningham)= Double move on Scandrick in the slot for a TD. No help over the top.

Dwayne Bowe=Seam pass for the game tying TD. Hamlin completely lost.

Mark Clayton=Long pass at the end of the first half. No help over the top. Hamlin in lala land.

These are just a few I can spout off. I'm sure there's dozens more, but your original post saying Hamlin hasn't gotten beat on a deep pass more than once this year is comical.

Jackson is the only real concern that I have. Maclin has skills but he isn't scary. Jackson is flat out terrifying. People always talk about a guy who plays a step faster than everyone else but Jackson is a guy who plays 2 steps faster than everyone else.

He's like Felix in that you watch the college footage and think there is no way they can be that ahead of everyone else at the pro level but they are.

I tell ya one thing though. If either of those guys comes across the middle, they had better be prepared to get a lick. This secondary is playing mean right now and anybody who thinks they can trot through there with ease has another thing coming.

The front seven are going to be important as can be. They gotta get pressure and cannot give any extra time in the pocket. Dallas needs to get up on Jackson and try to slow him at the line. If you're gonna play a man over the top, you gotta try to overpower him at the snap.

Knock him at the line and have help over the top. You can't let him get moving because nobody on the team can keep up. Pressure McNabb and don't allow quick scores and absolutely do not fall behind by more than a score.

This is pretty evenly matched game IMO and I think the home team takes it in both matchups.
